alright, time for a request!
anyone willing to do a pair of aviator goggles+the leather hat for the soldier?
I know Daimao did one way back in the days of the clubhouse, but I was thinking of one with a twist.
When the soldier has his rocket launcher out, the goggles flip down over his eyes. Whenever he's using anything else, they're on his brow as default.
Best part is, the leather caps/goggles were from around the 50's-ish so they would still also fit in with the tf2 timeline

My issue with the contest might be the opposite. That my items are too high-poly. The cartridge for the gun is 312 polys now, and I'm gonna have 5 of them, turning it into 1560 for just bullets. I'm at 2230 totally now. And I haven't even started the one the real gun yet.

Likely impossible to animate.

true it's probably impossible to animate it at the moment (since no soldier hat has animations on it) but this is more of an idea for the contribution project, so the animations can be included in the submission

Ask Valve nicely and they'll either release what you need to find out how to do it or they will simply do it for you if you contribute it.

Did you really need a reference image to model a bullet...?

It's because animations are fucked up. MDL decompiler tends to do that.
Your best bet is to work with the non broken reload animation and pretty much re-create the fucked up animations.

Raeg told me some v_models fuck up in the decompile. Nothing you can do about it :c
