I just realised. There are people in TF2 who have no idea what is going on. They are completely oblivious to any incoming update. They didn't take any notice of the pop-up leading to the comic. They will wake up on update day, open TF2 and wonder what all these robots are doing.

One of my best friends loves TF2.
When I told him about the blog he was amazed and surprised.
He still doesn't check it, and when I told him of these robots we're all excited for he called bullshit and refused to do anything to check or even look at the evidence I showed him.

But a lot of the playerbase just plays TF2, and doesn't know or care about the canon or any updates, let alone check the blog. They just play to play.
