I'm still bothered about them giving the [B]demo[/B] a shotgun... I mean, they've got some other things wrong on purpose in the past, and generally it was hinting at new gameplay mechanics.
I don't know if I want this to be the case... Hitscan sounds out of place in terms of demo weapons. Nah, I don't think they'd do that.
But again this is from the guy who managed to make the demo a melee class, so who knows what to expect?

Most of his melee's are either reskins or community contributed (or both.... *cough* Scottish Handshake *cough*) and melee weapons are the easiest to make since they don't require new animations

I can kind of confirm that, she and some of the other Valve writers were all eating lunch outside and chatting a few days ago. I heard them discussing TF2 and writing techniques.
I really hope the music actually PLAYS in the game mode.

Demoman is my favorite example of how the game has shifted from what it was 2007 to what it was now
He used to be a black scottish cyclops demolitions
and then the fucking war update added swords
so now everything modders do is either
A.) PIRATES
B.) Medieval weapons
and so that's all that gets added, fucking pirate hats or melee weapons

Shotgun for Demoman would just end up being another Liberty Launcher. Gimp yourself by taking away your far more powerful Sticky Launcher in exchange for it being hitscan and you not having to aim with projectiles.

I think it's probably that balancing replacements for the GL and SL is damn near impossible, so they don't try.

He has seven different, non-reskin melee weapons, two shields and a pair of boots (plus reskin.) One grenade launcher, one sticky launcher.
Compared to say Sniper, or Spy, which have only 4. But Spy probably doesn't count anyway, because he IS a melee class.
