can't make out what the picture is
Just watched the Mann vs. Machine trailer 100 times again.
The textures on the roof in the beginning are sooo baad.

It's archimedes
Same deal with the Diamondback, if killing bots under the influence of a sapper counts for a free crit.

But doesn't Diamondback get crits when you sap an building. And they are not buildings, they are robots. Now feel free to call me an idiot because "robots are buildings" or "you can sap them so they are buildings" but I don't think you'll get crits for Diamondback from them.

So many mediocre (well the FJ isn't medicore, but whatever), weapons will be super crazy awesome in this mode.
If robots are buildings the Homewrecker will be devastating. The Scottish Resistance could potentially upgrade away the arming time and basically become a way to protect all angles of the battlefield. If the Family Business can one hit a few robot classes, it'll be much more valuable in saving reload time, and can just upgrade away the damage downside.

Apparently bleeding works (somehow), so if the robots are weaker than usual classes, the Boston Basher and Tribalman Shiv will do a massacre

Low LOD.

Here's the kicker - I'm not sure if the code will distinguish that as being different. I think the Diamondback is coded to simply react based on whether or not you destroy or assist in destroying something with a sapper. Since you can't attach sappers to humans, I don't think there would be specific coding to make an exception for that (there would be no need to simply because you cannot put them on people).
I don't know for sure if that's how it works in the actual coding, but it might end up being an unforeseen boon given that you can now attach them to robots.
I'm worried about how big the update's going to be. With new maps, voice lines and models as well as gameplay changes and possibly new items the update could be pretty big and then it'll take forever for it to download. 500MB isn't a lot for me but when everyone and their mother decides to download the update in the East Coast area I start getting 10kb/s. I'll probably set my download region to Seoul or Finland or something and hopefully I can get the update and play before the servers fill up.
I've got a lot of hopes for other stuff that might be added in this update. Better logic for TFBots maybe (Offline practice CPU players)? Maybe CTF, Arena, SD or PLR will be properly supported for the bots? Maybe you can use bots as teammates in MVM (rainbows everywhere)? Maybe the game will switch to that new content delivery system that a bunch of other Steam games are using? Maybe they'll do some much needed bugfixes?
I'm hyped.

I heard (cough) that the Polish servers will be pretty un-stressed.
i think they would remove the diamondback crits from robots. it would be far too overpowered. maybe you could upgrade into it, but i highly doubt that saps on robots would count towards crits.
Also, maybe Ashley Burch got hired to voice Miss Pauling in a new TF2 short?
Actually I'm looking at my backpack for weapons that could get a use
And with upgrades + supposing the regular robots are weaker than you, pretty much all weapons suddently get a use and some lose their use (I doubt Solemn Vow will work, Vita-Saw pretty much looses its only use)
But depending on what the robots are considered (bots or buildings), it could entierely buff or nerf some weapons (Ubersaw, Hitman's Headtaker, pretty much anything with a bar)

Noticed this pattern when playing VSH. When you play against handicapped enemies (such as melee-only Hale), certain unloved weapons and weapon combos start to shine, such as scotres or Frontier Justice with normal sentries.
I can also see Baby Face's Blaster way more useful here, for it's increased accuracy from longer range and speed boost, which you can fill up really easily since you don't have to come up to them, they come up to you.
The update's gonna be a bit weird for me tonight.
I personally use Ayesdef's FemScout, or rather, the version that MaxofS2D and Rebbaccus enhanced, so if new Scout lines are added tonight, I'll have FemScout partly talking like Valve Scout.
Won't have to worry about that for long if DustyOldRoses tackles the new lines though. Dat legit Boston accent~ <3
If a robot head counts as a real head, the Eyelander will be SUPER OP

Doesn't the headcount reset to 0 after a certain amount of heads though?
If a robot head counts as a real head, the Eyelander will be SUPER OP
as opposed to what, real players?
It's not difficult getting 10+ heads on a normal server.
If a robot head counts as a real head, the Eyelander will be SUPER OP
Well, they had to buff scout a lot, and scout is by nature a close-range class. Pyros can spam super-flares.
So perhaps you might even have problems keeping yourself alive as a demoknight.
If a robot head counts as a real head, the Eyelander will be SUPER OP
The bonus caps very early though, and I'm pretty sure the bonuses found in this game mode will be comparably powerful.
What is really interestng in this update is the backend stuff.
In Pyromania that was pretty much the best part. I wonder what they will do this time.

I'm not sure what the overflow value is... it's either 128 or 255.
I take back what I said about the Vita-Saw
Just noticed you'll respawn in this gamemode
as opposed to what, real players?

Lives in MvM seem a lot longer, especially with Scout's respawn time being pushed as a large buff to Scout. If you're able to take out 4 robots in a few seconds, assuming they're all around you, you'll gain more benefit from your heads than if your life was only 20 seconds long.
Add that with bought increased damage and swing speed bonuses and you've basically guarenteed a Demoman with almost Scout speed and a ton of health
I'm not sure what the overflow value is... it's either 128 or 255.
It resets at 128
If there's one non-MvM thing I want, it's new crates.
And maybe new paint. I'd be superhappy if they finally made a non-bad pink.
