Every day of every update, I hope. Then I go back crying in the corner.
i admire your uncompromising style though. Admittedly, i had to compromise some of what i love on my models in favor of gaining valve's approval. Respect +1, sir.
Makes me wonder why they even have all of those special DSP presets...
the use for all of them is pretty clear tbh
32 man servers are expensive, I don't know if too many indie servers will be up with MvM
Which is why Valve is converting most of their servers to MvM servers.
Makes me wonder why they even have all of those special DSP presets...
"Strider pre-fire" is most definitely an artifact from HL2 or something. The rest are to haunt coders that are too curious and too foolhardy to believe in the Sound Goblins that are totally behind you

Now that I have had a good night's sleep since learning about Day 2, I decided to go back and actually think about stuff. I main pyro so his information was most important to me. Since it says nothing about the flamethrower (other than airblasts) it's safe to assume fire functions the same as always against the robots. The airblast upgrade is awesome. I try to play teamwork pyro and I use my airblast frequently, so the extra range is awesome. (Separating medics and pushing people around is something I do anyways so I'm glad they're implementing better airblast for the pyros that actually do that.) As someone who also frequently uses flareguns as secondary weapons, I'm glad to see they'll be even more useful. Consistent Pyro Player = Happy Camper. :) I included the Spy because I think his upgrades are interesting. I honestly didn't think they'd implement too much with disguises, but I suppose it makes sense. I'd assume that the spy would just disguise as a different team member (I doubt they'll add disguising as a robot... that would be neat, but very silly). Also, lolgiantbackstabbing... the idea of a little spy just running up and trying to backstab a giant is hilarious. Especially the derpy F2P spies I've seen lately. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Also, since flaming spies are always detected, hopefully it'll encourage spies to come visit their friendly neighborhood Pybro for a quick airblasting! I can't stand it when I take the time to chase down a burning teammate and they just run away from me. I got the "teammates extinguished" part for my strange flamethrower purely so that when my teammates die (likely of burning to death and running from me when I tried to help) they'll see that I actually try to be a team player and I'm not just another W+M1 pryo. :I As for weapon speculation (even though I said I don't normally do it) my first thought was a new robo-centered sapper/flare gun. But we just got the Scorch Shot and the new sapper, so I don't see that happening. Something nice for both classes would be cool. I'm a little disappointed that you can't upgrade the Homewrecker to do more damage on robots. Maybe we'll get a new flamethrower that has a smaller airblast ammo cost? Pretty sure if they came out with that I'd never leave MvM games. Ever. I also frequently play Scout and Sniper. I'll definitely be clocking in some hours as Scout on the MvM maps. Definitely seems to be geared towards keeping Scouts alive and on the run. I might actually have to use the Mad Milk now... I can't say the same for Sniper, unfortunately. I've never liked using jarate (I know, color me crazy). I just prefer the comfort of knowing I have a backup weapon as Sniper other than swinging my knife around should I end up fighting in close quarters. I'll definitely try being a Huntsman sniper, but I think I'll mostly stick with Pyro and Scout since there wasn't really any love for SMG Snipers. I'd love to see a new bow/arrow weapon for Sniper. Crossbow, maybe? That'd be badass. But since the page said "upgraded huntsman" and not "upgraded bow and arrow" I doubt we'll get anything like that. Also, let's all just take the time to appreciate the fact that Demoknights didn't get any upgrades for this gamemode. I dunno about you guys, but I'm pretty sure he's called the DEMOman. Not the SwordAndSheildMedievalAssholeMan... Just sayin'. Sorry if I repeated anything already said. I didn't feel like reading through 75 pages of posts do check my post for quality assurance. Also, to all the nice people who gave me such a warm welcome after my first post, thank you so much!
I know Day 3 will be achievements and throwaway mvm cosmetics, but part of me wants to believe we'll get bounties for every so many robots destroyed, or facilities saved. We'll probably get community items again in the patch notes like they did with pyromania, and hopfully lots of fixes too.
JESUS CHRIST THE DISTORTED SPEAKER
Now imagine that being the voice of the ??? robot + Echo effect. TRUE FEAR HAS BECOME PERSONIFIED.

From the looks of it, all weapons will get upgrades of some sort. Why else does it show the Ullapool instead of the bottle?
-snip-
And now I just realized the massive grief potential of Pyros...
Edit: Oh wait, I was mistakened: #37 and #39 are beeps.
oh my god the 38th it's perfect also it's interesting to note that there's a filter that makes voices sounds like the Administrator, yet the soundfiles for the Administrator have the effect pre-recorded
You know what would be the best for robot voice lines? If they got the original voice actors for all the 9 classes do special "super generic" lines in a flat, emotionless tone. Have them sound like robots trying too hard to sound like their biological counterparts. ROBO-SCOUT: I enjoy sports. "Boinks."
i admire your uncompromising style though. Admittedly, i had to compromise some of what i love on my models in favor of gaining valve's approval. Respect +1, sir.
Thanks! I just try to find the most inovative things I can do with the curent animations/rig/etc. Everything I make have to work or I just won't make it. But I try to think out of the box, to be more original, and most of all to do stuff I like doing.
Medic still needs a good facial hair cosmetic. When that day comes Mr Wise will be there, triumphant.
Why else does it show the Ullapool instead of the bottle?
Ah, that's true. I didn't think of that. Hmm... Even still, I'd love to see the influx of demoknights go down with the release of MvM. Good Demomen are brilliant team players. Demoknights are just annoying and accomplish very little aside from being a pain, even as teammates, at least in my opinion. Glad to see the caber's gonna get some love though. Demoknighting aside, I always really liked that weapon. Thanks for the reply!
Anyone know what time it will get released at? eastern time.
The best guess is 8 PM EDT.

That aside, how about an upgrade for multi-use cabers? So if you don't die at first, the caber isn't useless.

I bet this update also brings big changes to "real" tf2 bots. Looks like they might be able to finally use melee weapons better, and also certain unlocks a lot better than before (like Quick-Fix)

I wonder if we'll be able to play MvM offline with bots. Just for the irony of it.

I hope that mvm is able to be played in offline practice. Server ques and all that.
So one thing that sort of concerns me: available servers. We know Valve will be converting a majority of theirs over to MvM, but even still, that's a paltry 6 people per server. I foresee a lot of full servers and a significant decrease in alternatives to MvM to play in as well. Are there really going to be terribly widespread shortages? And that's not even taking into account the kind of crashes and Steam outages this update might wreak.
