Hey Neo, got a bug to report. When someone else gets a kill with a lvl 2 sentry, part of the Degreaser icon shows up to the left of it.
That's odd, I swear that was an icon I tested. I distinctly remember the bots destroying my level 2 sentries over and over again while I tried to test it. Thanks though, I'll fix it after lessons.
Actually I just worked it out, it had too much empty space to the left, then I added the Degreaser which stopped the space being empty.

A Bit late on this but I've been sleeping so yeah.
I don't know why I've always imagined this type of cigarette holder to be used mainly by women and i don't think it fits all to well as lovely as it is. Still a lovely model maybe make a shorter one and give it to sniper or soldier 2 classes who apparently smoke according to the wiki.
Thinking about it on sniper he would look more like Raoul Duke if shorter.
Spy, Sniper, Soldier, and Demoman all smoke.

Man, I hope I didn't go too overboard. It would suck if it turns out this can't be modeled. :C
Anyways, which do you prefer more:
Design number 1? [img_thumb]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/Ragnarokdragon/dragon_whelp_hat_redux_final_lowres.jpg[/img_thumb]
Or design number 2? [img_thumb]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/Ragnarokdragon/chinese_dragon_hat_final.jpg[/img_thumb]
I guess Agree for 1, Disagree for 2. I'm interested in hearing what FP thinks.
I like the first one much better, probably because it doesn't look so out of place
i can draw that
if i have a base beside me of course

Mainly but not exlusively used by women, this is no argument against the spy using it.
I don't see how it fits anyone's character better than spy's. The only reason to put it on sniper would be to wear it with the bucket hat and pretend you're in Fear and Loathing.

I could say the same thing about the Killer's Kabuto, to be honest, but I see your point.

Oh no i wasn't arguing it didn't fit spy, i was just airing my own opinion on it.

And pretty much this.

Communist Cake already made this, and it's the best hat ever made in my opinion.
Just because of the reference and all.

Now we need a reptilian head hat for every other class too

GOOD GOD HOW DID I MISS THIS! To the emporium archives!
I could say the same thing about the Killer's Kabuto, to be honest, but I see your point.
I suppose the Kabuto makes as much sense as the Tyrant's Helmet and Chieftain's Challenge
Now we need a reptilian head hat for every other class too
Snake for spy, and some weird fast lizard for scout
Snake? Don't you mean chameleon?
Now we need a reptilian head hat for every other class too
I think that might be taking it to far. The dragon is good for pyro and adding reptiles to all others kind of starts to loose the unique factor of it in a sense, well at least to me.
Plus snipers already got his croc hat.
How do you even screw something up like that
You define the icon limits using a text file and pixel coordinates.
So it's very easy to screw up.
Well i made a sound mod for the minigun based on "In The Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg
The spin up sound is buggy, it uses the Natasha sounds and the volumes are a little inconsistent but it's a start.
I would have made some kind of mini-gun replacement made up of various brass instruments but I'm too lazy.
At least the sound loops near perfectly (if I listen REALLY hard I can almost make out a bit where it jumps slightly)
Anyway, enjoy

Exactly why I suggested it. But it was a joke anyway, I never thought anyone would take it seriously.

Hey, My Killer's Kabuto makes slightly more sense than the Viking or Chieftain :P
Well... In the way that it's a helmet designed for war, and that the Soldier could easily mistake Sun Tsu for being Japanese.

They're all warrior/tough motherfuckers hat anyway so they fit

It's ill known, but Dr. Seuss was a hardcore warrior who won World War 2 single handedly.

I can see where you're coming from, though this topic alone can have many different views. I think we can all agree they deviate from the original designs of the character in some way.
In terms of which hats deviate more, like I said, can differ between individuals. I personally think the Killer's Kabuto makes as much little sense as the Viking Helmet and Chieftain does as they hail from different origins other than the patriotic American theme we know from the Soldier. Killer's Kabuto obviously being Japanese, Chieftan being Native American, Viking being, well, Viking. Sure, the Kabuto is war-like, but that's not really enough. That, and Sun Tzu is Chinese, not Japanese.
That being said, my previous comment of saying my chinese dragon hat being just as bad as the Killer's Kabuto seems pretty reasonable to me as its theme equally differs in some way from the Pyro as the Kabuto does to the Soldier. Actually, one could say that since we don't truly know the Pyro's origin, really anything goes for him. It's a dragon, symbolizes fire, it fits his theme.
Most players won't care for all this anyways, it's a goddamn dragon. :V
Just make sure you make it paint-compatible or else Valve will horribly rape your hat over, break smoothing groups/specular maps and turn all texture detail into solid colors.
Also who needs automerge, But in regards to the Dragon hat, I liked it when it actually looked like a proper cheap dragon hat, not saying that I dislike the new design, I'd like it if it looked a bit more... mass produced cheaply.
Ragnar and I have actually thought about just designing both hats and submitting them both to Valve and see which ones get accepted. I personally like them both too much to scrap one of them.

And don't worry, we've already thought about this lol.

Could you make an alternative version of the Y.E.R. backstab with the body cloaking or half-cloaked to better show that it's a silent kill / your body disappears? And hey FP o/

Didn't want to have to say this, but I explained the Chinese to Japanese thing :P
Given the Soldier's level of ignorance and patriotism.
This common racist line comes to mind, "All Asians look the same"
Hence the mistake, the Kabuto will always make slightly more sense than the Viking and Chieftain, as these two other hats make no reference to his character other than his fighting spirit, which is shared with the Kabuto.
Dragons however, are cool, and it makes complete sense with Pyro >:3

Oh goddamnit I forgot about that damn hat haha.
Well I guess Dr. Seuss wasn't the only one to wear it, maybe a Spartan or a Roman officer decided to wear it one day because he thought it looked cool and everyone was mocking him so he beat the shit out of them, but only soldier knows this story. :v:
Because he invented it!
