Since there are 2 major ways to make the painting system work, I decided to try the one Daimao didn't. On this attempt the detail ie. the paint stripes are in the paint channel so they get coloured in whatever colour you've painted your hat. you need to add a skybox texture on a plane and set his atributions. you can also make a small map with more detailed stuff and set it as your default sky.
