You'd need the power from a small nuclear generator to do it.

Oh and Metaru, the railgun the U.S. Navy has cooked up is not a rifle for infantry combat. It is an artillery piece that hurtles a large projectile at extremely fast speeds.

clearly we wont need railgun rifles as long as we dont have to face exoeskeletons. and even if we do, a .50 cal would probably tear it to shreds easily.
