Not posted any update in a while, but I'm still working on the weapon concept for the Mandarin Spy Set - The Chinese Takeout. This is what's done so far

Still need to trim the fat, UV map the thing and such. Also had to stray a bit from the original concept, because the original concept looked a little bland when recreated in 3D. So I added this Qing Dynasty Coin (last dynasty in Imperial China to have Mandarins) as an object of interest. Of course, if anyone has any ideas on what to place there, I'd love to hear it. :smile:

Won't that coin get completely covered by the Spy's hand except during the draw animation and a little bit during the taunt animation?

That's a really good start - as Constructor pointed out, those edges could be beveled out, but you could also do them later once you're a bit sure of the polycount. Otherwise, it looks really nice from a blocking perspective...can't wait to see how it progresses!

Actually, the way I positioned it was based roughly using the YER and the Big Earner as a guide. The pommel of the knife is roughly where the coin and ribbon are, so from a first person perspective they [I]should[/I] be clear of the wrist, although this can only be checked once I've actually brought it in game.
