I look like the scout, sort of, in my leather coat. Just...With glasses.... Damn my poor eyesight. Anyways, looks great! Few things look a bit wierd, and may be on the scout model and I have never noticed them before, but great. Only suggestion, add a button above the strap of make the sleeves longer. It's how my leather jacket looks, and really how I see many jackets like this looking. There also normally is a logo on the back. (Also, anyone happen to have an under cover or idiot box, I need them for a halloween collection I am gathering.)
cleaned up the sculpt and added some things

I think S would be better.
Is the A just a placeholder? I think S would be better.
Or R and B (Because of the teams)
Is the A just a placeholder? I think S would be better.
A is the go-to for stereotypical varsity jacket depiction. [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
Or R and B (Because of the teams)
that would require a modeled style for a simple letter change
varsity jacket by pogo, sparkwire, and void
They're officially called "Letterman" jackets. Non-varsity participants can still get one, you know. The reason some people refer to them as varsity jackets is the fact that some schools do not give out any monograms until the varsity season for a particular student (this applies to athletes, band members, and students who excel in academics). Schools that give out more monograms than just the varsity letter also give out other monograms such as one that states the year that student graduates (usually given during the freshman season), a "junior" letter (a smaller monogram that's typically doled out during the sophomore season), and some other third thing that I can't remember, I'll go find my own Letterman jacket for a reminder. Another tradition with Letterman jackets is to have someone embroider the name of the participated sports/organizations onto the back of the jacket. I can take pictures of my Letterman jacket if you want an example, conveniently I ran track so you can see how that looks when embroidered :v: [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
that would require a modeled style for a simple letter change
Is it possible to use transparency on a texture to cheat around that?
Personally I feel that the modeled "R" and "B" would be worth the extra effort - it makes the item stand out even more while still fitting in well.
Or maybe they could just be in the texture + normal map
Or maybe they could just be in the texture + normal map
almost all of the torso is the original scout sooooo
Or maybe they could just be in the texture + normal map
Not sure if it'd give that nice pop up stitched on look though, although it would really help on bring down the overall polycount. Also, there's that issue of stretching, which considering the location of it, has the potential to be horrendous :c
model each letter and have them as a style, for 26 different styles
Or maybe they could just be in the texture + normal map
That would look terrible.
model each letter and have them as a style, for 26 different styles
PLEASE DO IT SO I CAN HAVE J.
model each letter and have them as a style, for 26 different styles
That's actually not such a bad idea....
scout_varsity_a.mdl scout_varsity_b.mdl scout_varsity_c.mdl etc etc.
scout_varsity_a.mdl scout_varsity_b.mdl scout_varsity_c.mdl etc etc.
Well technically speaking, it'd just be the one model, with every letter bodygrouped in.
Well technically speaking, it'd just be the one model, with every letter bodygrouped in.
Oh right, forgot about bodygroups.
tomorrow is the first time in a week i wont be at work till 11pm + so i will finish the knives texture for my spy set tomorrow as well as start the watch(this time i have an idea for a dead ringer replacement so i shouldn't have an issue getting it to work ingame(hopefully))
I felt like doing some normalmapping so I started remaking medics normal, here's the sleeve so far: Still some refining to be done, aiming to have it match the shape of the model as well as look good and make sense both when bent and when straight. And in case you didn't know medics old/current normal is straight from the beta medic model so it's a little off.
