nice job, sis
nice job, sis
But is she adequate at being sneaky?
MrMarioman's Pointless Adventures in Workshop
Interesting tale, sibling that is male.
I'm sure we can find age appropriate things to do for all involved.
...... Legoland?
...... Legoland?
no kiddieland I'd go. If I was old enough. And was a contributor. And knew how to model. Maybe I can sneak aboard Void's plane... Now to plot, and make up an excuse to go away for a week.
the GRU Pugilist's protector styles were marked incompatible?? Waaa?? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2334&searchtext=
Original creator? It's weird that valve are going back over a year to mark a submission as incompatible.
the GRU Pugilist's protector styles were marked incompatible?? Waaa?? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2334&searchtext=
Meanwhile, at Valve HQ, someone is leaning on buttons by accident. Hopefully.
does whoever is modding the workshop know Yamo created the Protector?
Yeeeeeess Legoland! (the one in Denmark that is)
Another update on the texture, changed the colours
the GRU Pugilist's protector styles were marked incompatible?? Waaa?? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2334&searchtext=
I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.
does whoever is modding the workshop know Yamo created the Protector?
yep
yep
do they hate nice styles?
Another update on the texture, changed the colours
I do love what's going on here, but I can't help but feel that rough wood and rustyish metal is an unfitting look for a spy primary.
Another update on the texture, changed the colours
Make it dual wieldable and give spy a jetpack. Additionally colour him black.
the only reason that i can think of for the pug styles to be rejected is that valve altered the original pug and thus invalidating any modifications coming from the original creator. We got that message on the kringle, so that any future changes cannot be accepted because valve did some alterations to it. Of course that is kinda wierd since valve almost always alters an item before it gets in the game. However, i dont see any major alterations on the pug. not that i know of at least.

You mean to say is that Valve still pays a share of the profits to the contributors, but also bars them from trying to improve upon their creation which they created on their own time when all Valve needs to do is implement them? Why would...wat. I can't even figure out why this, in particular, was against workshop submission guidelines considering Yamo must've sent a model to go with it. Do you expect this would change (and Valve would be more amenable to original creators sending fixes for their items) once the new compiler comes through? When is it actually expected, anyway?

Yamo should try to get contact with them so he can rectify this. It doesn't seem right to just mark his stuff incompatible without some sort of indication as to why it's incompatible. That's like buying a meal from McDonald's, but wanting a refund because the ticket stubs on the fries won you the McDonald's Monopoly. If you don't like the McDonald's Monopoly, just ignore the ticket stubs, you still get your burger, fries, and drink.

Why not let through additional styles (which don't take away from the original model/texture) and then give due considerations to items that might alter model/texture of the existing work?
I remember when the Soda Popper was updated I had to explain to tons of people what exactly changed as they noticed no difference, and that has to be one of the most dramatic improvements for an item they've ever added... I think with the Pummeler there would be a similar reaction. Those that want it would have their improved model and those that didn't even know it could be improved would just continue to not realize it even changed. There's not much of an excuse for the Protector though, it's just a straight improvement lol

It's more like buying a really awesome toy car, and then finding out that it's actually a transformer. And while someone might be all "Hey, this car is awesome cos it's a robot as well!", there are a few bad seeds out there ruining it for others.
they could always just make all previous versions of the item vintage or even just have the old version as a (non-default) style. Actually the latter idea is a perfect way to fix it. Add a fix, but leave the old version as an optional second style.

Hmmm.
I want the new Pummeler in the game, so I'm going to try and work any sort of feasible way to do it :x

The only complaints that they could have is about other people who like using the robot function of the transformer. However, that's a dumb reason to complain, it's not their money, they shouldn't have a say in how other people spend it.
I suggested something like that awhile back, no one ever got back to me. Hmmm.
Is it possible to maintain an active list of items with fixes sent in by item creators and keep it along with the community item schema initiative, just so someone can keep a track of it?
