I'm always looking for ways to give the spy more classic spy gear and I think this concept certainly falls into that category. This is a concept for a concealed gas gun designed to fit into the sharp dresser animation, but instead of thrusting and stabbing, its thrusting and spraying. The equip animation also works since the gas gun's tube is designed to be retractable.
3DS Max is probably the easiest to learn of any modelling program out there and you'd be shooting yourself in the foot starting out with anything else. Anyone who says it's difficult or complicated simply hasn't taken the time or effort to properly learn it.
No not really. I've taken plenty of time to properly learn it, I've just not connected properly I guess. And what I mean by "personal teacher" is someone who I can actually talk to...

You don't need that, you're just not trying hard enough...
I got a random idea today to replace the sentry buster with Homestar Runner. Just because he has two legs and no arms.
As a show of hands how many here are self taught in modelling/texturing (zing), how many took courses (tool) and how many were taught by a peer (friendly)?
Self learning is a valuable skill, and employers and universities value it greatly.

Currently working on this. Only about 40% made or so.

just about done with the knife than its off to the invisibility watch( going to be making a dead ringer replacer instead of the old watch)
Can someone make a mod that changes the skin color of the robot heads to be like the classes' skin color? Like the head of the Demobot is black, and everyone else is white, cause they're white.

I stumbled my way through learning how to do rigging and particle systems. I had the occasional hand along the way, but most of mine was working backwards from decompiling models in game.

I'll say that being self-taught definitely helps in the long-run. You don't need to go to some whack-ass art school to learn how someone else draws or whatever.
self-taught with photoshop from age 4 swag~
Can someone make a skin for the pugilist and kgb to make it look like spongebobs karate hat and gloves?

I watched a tutorial once, the rest is trial and error and getting tons of help from Eeshton.
You don't need that, you're just not trying hard enough...
3rd time, I'll give you wasn't my full effort, but the first 2 times I put my whole effort into desperately trying to figure it out.
I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with learning from a peer, it's basically just more personal than learning from videos. I mean, it's not like he'd be coaching me every step of the way, it's just someone who I can ask the details of what does what when I'm fooling around with the program.
Like, if I had a gun to my head, or proper motivation (BESIDES A GUN TO MY HEAD), I could learn 3DS Max from tutorials. Hell, I could probably teach myself from the knowledge of 3D modeling I already know.
helljumper's blender 2.5 modelling tutorial for tf2, only tutorial a man could need
Fuck all this talk of switching is getting me all motivated. 4th try this weekend I guess :(

Glorious
Engy scares me.
That's the kind of item that only fits on Soldier and Heavy.
Maybe on Demo.
Looks too weird for Engie tho.
demo clips too much. gonna dump heavy too I think

That looks GLORIOUS on engy. Magnificent!
Please don't dump heavy. Or demo? Cant you just make it work somehow. You can always just move the mesh around a little for each class.

If I could model I would totally make this. Alas.
I support the idea
I love the idea of a big bushy beard on the Engie, but I don't think the Norse style fits. Maybe a generic hillbilly beard? Then again that should probably be a different item I suppose.

Well I imagined if this did get made into a model and Valve did add it to the game, Valve would give the gun stats that removed the backstab ability.
