I'll highfive and call people awesome whenever I see my hats worn in game, whether they crafted it, got it from a drop, bought it, even more if they painted it, renamed it.
Cos I know for sure, that there is a person who likes my hat.

Oh, it's kinda like, you work hours and work, so you get paid for those hours.
So you have money, from which you've invested time into, to spend on something that someone else has invested time in, he takes his money from his invested time, and spends it on something else that someone's put some time in.
Doesn't necessarily have to do with hats, but the way life works.
Lets say I work 5 hours, to get 50 bucks, I spend it all on watermelons which Bob spent his 5 hours harvesting, Bob then goes and spends his 50 bucks on some wine, which Kevin spent 5 hours squishing with his feet, etc etc.
Money doesn't grow on trees, and if it did, someone'd probably be out there spending 5 hours picking the bills off it's branches.

Killer's Kabuto was actually my first drop, I've devolped some sort of attachment to the hat...heh...3 years ago or however fucking long ago it was, when the hat dropped for me, I don't believe I'd find myself arguing with the creator of it over this.
