damn I should've stuck selfillum in the VMT I gave to Valve, makes them quite a bit cooler
that'd be kind of a neat style for them
I mean whenever you see glow in the dark skeletons they're always lime green.
So here's Totenkreuz's Rebel's Rag, painted by yours truly:

We can't decide whether or not to make it paintable, though - hit agree if you think we should, likewise disagree if not. Cheers
EDIT: how about a neutral tan as well? Opinions? Teamcolour, neutral, or paintable?
Thing is, you'd have to remove "$blendtintbybasealpha", "$blendtintcoloroverbase", "$colortint_base" and "$colortint_tmp", or else it just screws up.

I could give a nice green tint to the vtf if you want, just for you.
svdl knows a way to make things paintable and selfillum
he taught us while we went through the absolute hell of making the plutonidome paintable

ah so no paint, shame... maybe I can hack around that. time to experiment something

exactly
i texture things because it gives me something to do in my spare time, and i get to keep working on my skills
then things get added to the game and it's even better because i get paid for stuff i made in my spare time with traits that were self-taught from age 4
it's fun, it's a hobby, it's all i can do, and it's got my foot in a lot of doors
do it for yourself, not for the money
3 for 3. Come on guys.

I wish someone would do a moonbase themed map for TF2 with that thing somewhere in the background
Belt placement wont work:

So disagree for hugely oversized tank version, zing for original normal-sized grenade belt placement.

This gif looks hugely realistic. I thought it was a bunch of men in skeleton clothing being filmed.

it's mesmerizing
and spooky
well yeah, when you make something completely dark, only keeping a plain white shape that is on an anatomically correct body, it's not really going to look fake.
Yay for shitty mods

I've being thinking about learning modeling to enhance my skill set first, with money being a secondary goal. I certainly wouldn't get into modeling/texture work just on the slight off chance I might get something accepted into TF2; those skills and time can be used for a lot more. I'm sorry if the tone of my comment made me come off as being "only in it for the money", but having that persuasion factor is nice if the work starts to get you down, or just to have something to maybe look forward to.
Like I said, I just wanted to know what contributors tend to get.

square is by far one of the best concept artists in the emporium, falling a little short for DMY
Might not be the time or place to ask, but... How difficult would it be to port CS:GO's AWP to TF2 as a model replacement for the AWPer Hand? Before someone says something dumb, they're two completely different models. The TF2 version has a shorter barrel, noticeably lower polycount, and a different texture. I know some people assume it was a port already, but it wasn't.
And no, I don't care if it looks out of place. That's kinda what I want, for it to look like something from a totally different world. Which it is.

Don't be square, you can texture.
