Because why the hell not.
Make it Sentry or Buildings related.
Thats the plan.
Trying to think of somthing similar to the cat symbol.

CAD
Computer-Aided Destruction
CAD: And then the scene in meet the medic played out very differently.
Main differences: Heavy got an abortion.
Should I use a different shape in place of the triangle?

Thinking maybe a sentry, but I would have to get some reference material.

If you want to keep that round shape, you could have it be the Engineer's hardhat.

Tried the engie helmet.
I did not do well.
:(
How about a toolbox? It's roughly the same shape if you forget about the lack of roundness.

DOG
I got bored, made a concept set. Bringing baseball back to the scunt!
Primary

A scattergun made from a bent baseball bat.
Secondary

A pistol with half a signed baseball taped to the bottom.
Melee

Knuckle duster. Completely unfitting with the set, but I liked the concept of it :L
Hat/Misc

A visor, sunglasses, toothpick and whistle (replaces dogtags)
Misc 1

Two baseballs on the scout's bag strap.
Misc 2

A catcher's glove attached to the scout's belt.
All these are up for grabs :3
Basic idea.

Maybe try something more like this.

Could probably work better if the rest of the indents on the helmet are highlighted. It's not like you can see much lighting on a solid-black image of the hardhat, and as it is, it may be a bit difficult to see as a hardhat.
Experimentation and whatnot, find something that works best.

Might just steal this.
Cause that is better than anything I have gotten thus far, and it is gonna be pretty small and on engies back.
I really hate having to ask a money question, but this is the only place I can think of and I've not had a reply from Valve.
I read through the Workshop Contribution Guidelines, and this section concerns me - "Information and Tax Forms Required: Valve requires certain information and tax forms for payment and tax purposes. You must supply all requested information to Valve for payment to be made."
Thing is, I still live with my parents. I haven't paid any tax at any point, and as such I don't have the relevant information in my name. What do I do if an item I've contributed to would happen to make it into the store? Would I be able to sort the financial stuff through a parent's name? I feel kind of embarrassed saying this, but like I said I didn't get a response from Valve yet.

you get a tax form and fill it out and send it to valve
one of those w-forms if you're in the states
you won't have to pay taxes unless you are paid over a certain amount in a year
i first had to do this back in 2010, and i wasn't a legal adult back then, age or who takes care of you doesn't matter really, unless you want to claim as a dependent
it's also good to set up a bank account right about now, as valve works on direct deposit now instead of checks like back in 2010
[editline]8th November 2012[/editline]
also send an email to janelo@valvesoftware.com as she is the money lady around those parts
That was the address I emailed, no response as of yet. Perhaps she's busy.
Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated. I do indeed have a bank account, have done for a few years now. Thanks for the information.
It took me a while to realise that "janelo" was Jane Lo and not some funny sounding off-brand of Jell-o.
Regarding V/W models, how possible is it to convert C_models to them? Is it not doable, or just really difficult? If it is indeed within the realms of possibility, is there a step by step guide anywhere? This is the last hurdle for my modding, I think, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Recompiling v models is a pain - the decompiler breaks the animations and most applications break the rigging. Milkshape and the $includemodel trick seems to work.
Well, to decompile them properly you have to decompile the model two times: one with mdldecompiler for the good mesh, and another with studiomdl to get the correct animations.
The CAD abbreviation honestly reminds me way too much of how people usually use that abbreviation when referring to the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del

hey, more simply, RED and BLU

CAD no matter what, is always seen as computer aided design to me.
I blame my graphics course from high school for that.

Instead of a bent bat, you could maybe base the primary on a Baseball Launching Machine?
Alright, a few items I'm looking for feedback on.
This is a Scout holiday-themed pack. It shall consist of:
Heated Debate - Force-A-Nature replacement
Warm Embrace - Boston Boom Bringer replacement
Winter Warmer - Mad Milk or BONK! Atomic Punch replacement
Muffled Sound - Hat/Ear phones replacement, paintable
I'm in need of two things from you kind people:-
1). Feedback and comments! I'm working on the textures, so tones, palettes, details, etc.
2). The Force-A-Nature replacement is giving me a brain hemorrhage. Using the existing bones and simply compiling does not work, model is very broken. Anyone who can assist me here or is willing to help me out would be more than welcome to having a percentage of any revenue share.
** Images are taken from Maya, not yet in-game **
*small edit: adjusted coffee cup to have cardboard sleeve.
Unshaded, so you can see the textures:

A shaded version is available at this link:

Here are some close-ups of the shaded shotgun, as it has more to it than the first image may show:

Currently working hard to prep the files for texturing. Finished LOD's and jigglebones for the napkin, but does anyone think the napkin should be bigger?

Great work, get it to work in TF2 and refine the texture. (a solid phongmask does miracles)
Love the FaN replacement.
