I checked to see what would happen if you just did a black and white command with the head, and it really looks unfitting unless you darken it, which changes the chipped parts too. I feel it should look something along the lines of what I did (Excuse the other color changes) :

That probably won't be a problem. I can just make it so that it uses the default reload animations, just without any parts of the gun actually moving.

That would look odd, I suggest looking at the luger constructor made a bit back, it had a square body as well, and they made it work with the normal reload animations
Has someone made a fire extinguisher as a backpack for Pyro? Because if they haven't, then someone do that.

When I made the concept, I place the large circle where the revolver cylinder goes. I was thinking the cylinder would have a square cover where the large circle is, similar to [URL="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93980945"]The Gun from U.N.C.L.E[/URL] (like I just realized Bapaul said). I'm no modeler though.

BTW, the gun looks fantastic. One thing though, I think you should increase the height of the lower part of the edge of the trigger to match the edge length on the the right side of the trigger.

That'll probably work. When I put the default revolver next to the gun in blender, the revolver cylinder matched up perfectly with the large circle.

I think what it is is that we've all been seeing it for ages now, and whenever we watch an item slowly be developed and improved over time, we start to like it more.
I guess the people who are coming into the workshop with fresh minds and just seeing a tumor with slight gangrene get weirded out.
Go figure.
