Anyone up for rigging it to the scout?
yes, just look at the picture i posted
[editline]2nd October 2012[/editline]
an engine isn't flat, you have to imply that there's stuff inside it, look at some references man
okay, thanks, I'll do all this tonight when I get home
Mind if I join on the fun?
lets convince them they want tf2 promos
i want in
fucking love oddworld
I'm waiting to add those posts because I need to confer with deodorant about the perspective. this is in no way a final mesh. but I'll look add making the handle more solid.
this is only my second gun so I appreciate the feedback
My personal opinion, but it really needs to sell on volume - the key aspect of the silhouette of the minigun is the sheer volume and girth it has. Try to take a beefy motorcycle, like, say A Triumph Rocket III Classic

and try to incorporate some elements - that cooling radiator forming a nice buffer to the massive engine behind it really sells that powerful look. As sparkwire pointed out, Single cylinder engines (look at Classic British Cafe Racers for the best examples of this) have very interesting shapes. I love that light in the front though, that's a lovely touch - you could even go for the Indian headdress approach

I think the concept could still be refined a lot more at this stage - there's a lot of potential and I really like some of the bits in it, so I hope it comes out awesome!
After playing a lot of BL2, i felt that an item like Sirens class mod had do be made for TF2.

Could anybody link me too a jiggle guide for maya?

That's really not too hard, just rig the main ring to whatever his lower leg is, then place jigglebones at every link or 2, depends on how you much you want it to move. then increase the angle freedom per chain so that it becomes a nice curve, doesn't seem to work with constant angles.
Also mind that you don't want it to purely go up and down, it tends to go through the ground if you do that.
If I get home I can send you some proper jigglebone settings as I made the same item, as an early halloween escaped convict set for soldier but dropped it
I'm the first to admit that concept I drew is in retrospect terrible, and I encourage Venezuelan to deviate from it and improvise. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but that engine looks like it was made significantly later than the 60s. Here are some more unambiguously retro references.

I have this problem where I'll google reference images then spend 10 minutes looking for the most simplistic version of it to model, coz I'm lazy. Don't do that.

honestly, that sounds best for me, not because I'm lazy (though also that), but because I'm still not very skilled

Alright thank you! Though by rigging I mean placing it on the player and copying it over to both hands.
The halloween update is the 27th normally

Every box of "Action Hale: Escape from hippie island" includes your very own fleeing hippie! collect them all!
still no NOTLU?
*Puss in Boots eyes*
give the notlu guys a break, it's a lot of work
and some people submitted things late
as amazing as the NOTLU update is, there's been hardly any weapons. lots of spectacular hats and miscs, but hardly any weapons at all. And we all complain about there not being enough weapons. but still some amazing items nonetheless

I partly blame Valve saying they only wanted cosmetics.

Valve asked for cosmetics therefore everyone who wanted hats and reskins in the game made cosmetics.
I miss new weapons.
I don't usually like Halloween weapons since they would be much more heavily used than cosmetics and would generally be unfitting the rest of the year

Simply put though, the Unarmed Combat and the UHHHH somewhat fits, and is far better than say, the Candy Cane.
It really depends on how it's done.

Dunno why people are always saying the Unarmed Combat fits, it really doesn't. Wanga Prick fts.

In the latest blog post there's written: "That's why we're giving you until October 1st to fill the Steam Workshop with horrifying Halloween-themed cosmetic items."
Halloween weapons will probably not be accepted ingame,so that's why there are more miscs than weapons in the submissions
edit: i'm late i guess.

But significantly worse than, say, the Sandman and Ullapool Caber.
The workshop is full of gorgeous and completely fitting weapons, and new weapons are being added at a way slower rate than new cosmetics. I appreciate the lack of halloween weapons, as it gives all of the great non-holiday-based weapons in the workshop a slightly bigger chance of being added in a future update.

You know, scouts kill spies daily.
Not only during halloween.
I know valve requested cosmetics only, but NOTLU is still a community update.

Could people start making a habit of linking to the workshop submission in question when posting workshop comments?
