The taunt killing is an importiant part of TF2 so they'll probably remove the taunt or make it availible with the Halloween hats.
The same thing happened to me yesterday. Playing on koth_nucleus, we were getting rape-trained by the other team. Their sniper in particular was giving quite a bit of trouble, so I went to take care of him as a Scout. He's waddling back and forth, zoomed in, and I have the perfect postition to taunt-kill.
I press "g", and what do I get? The thriller taunt, of course. Which isn't to say there's a problem with it, so I taunt again. FUCKING THRILLER AGAIN.
A goddamn pyro then came up and lit my ass on fire.

I am getting tired of the thriller taunt... it was awesome... during halloween :(
I must say I haven't really suffered from it yet...
However a medi I lit on fire once have though :)
He tried to taunt heal himself... only to do a thriller while burning to death >:D
I think they should add a +specialtaunt command after Halloween's over. So if we WANT to Thriller dance we can, but if we don't we can use normal.

No it's not.
I think valve made that point by including the Thriller taunt, showing that you shouldn't rely on taunting kills to win.
I've got about 7GB of fraps footage of a bunch of us on the 2f2f server playing Russian Roulette.
Most of us were heavies and we'd do the fist taunt at eachother. I'll probably encode it and upload to youtube eventually.
