The tyrannus was the hat that to me started the decline of the TF2 artstyle. It was lime green before any other item in TF2 was lime green, it's silly and random, it's based on an alien from a 90's television show set in the year 3000, and it doesn't look like stereotypical 1950-1960's aliens. Yet, everyone loved it because "It's so silly and cute :3" and "lol futurama xD"
So yes... now that the TF2 artstyle has been long dead and rotting for so long that the maggots crawling around on it all have full bellies and has left no more than bone left... I still find some pleasure in mixing and matching new character stereotypes. At least this hat is based on the classic gray aliens.

I then realised that one item was Japanese, the other Chinese.

Both the artstyle and the theme.
The artstyle was much more simplistic, the mercenaries mostly only had clothing directly related and useful to their professions with very little personal belongings, all the classes had unique roles and when you saw them you always knew what you were up against, the game had a colorset strictly based on Red vs Blu with a Farming vs Industrial style. This too has been diminished with updates.
Yes, weapons and cosmetics are still made with large brush-strokes and exaggerated proportions, but that doesn't necessarily mean they follow the artstyle of the original game. All of the new weapons are designed in a way that they are easy to distinguish from the old weapons, and in the majority of the cases they have to achieve this by being more eyegrabbing than the original weapons. This differs from the original weapons design, where the classes and their weapons were designed to always be one and the same, and therefor the original weapons blend in with the character a lot more.

I happen to also like the Degreaser + Axstinguisher combo simply because of its visual appeal, the Axstinguisher is a makeshift fire axe and the Degreaser has a fire extinguisher which fits well the the Firefighter get-up.

The axtinguisher isn't really a homemade fire axe, it's just a regular axe covered in barbed wire, which, let's be honest, really wouldn't be that effective in a fire.

I don't think there's any real need to argue that the model doesn't make sense with its stats, there's definitely more unlockable weapons with stats you could not guess just by looking at the model and a lot worse offenders than the Axstinguisher. It's at least an Axe, and it has a very axe-crazy psychopath vibe to it that I like. I like the Fire Axe better visually, but the Axstinguisher is the next best thing when I don't want to nerf myself just to look good.

I find like both ways are cheats, since SFM makes everything look pretty good and the replay let you pick the angle.
