If you don't use the whip it'll go to the spawn room and kill all your teammates.
what if I hate my teammates
what if I hate my teammates
You are hitting them with a whip, after all. That shows you hate them.
You are hitting them with a whip, after all. That shows you hate them.
Not hating, motivating!
Stock Scoot master race.
I can understand maybe using the default scattergun, but not using the sandman or guillotine over stock seems kind of weird to me.
I can understand maybe using the default scattergun, but not using the sandman or guillotine over stock seems kind of weird to me.
Sandman is cheap/annoying. My opinion.
I can understand maybe using the default scattergun, but not using the sandman or guillotine over stock seems kind of weird to me.
Do you really think the cleaver is better than the pistol, and the sandman better than, say, the candy cane or atomiser?
I can understand maybe using the default scattergun, but not using the sandman or guillotine over stock seems kind of weird to me.
just the pistol alone one-ups both of those
Do you really think the cleaver is better than the pistol, and the sandman better than, say, the candy cane or atomiser?
Yes. The ability to do 40+ damage and bleed every few seconds is exceptionally good. Expect against sentries, there you're kinda gimped. But Scouts aren't really for dealing with them anyway. As is the ability to stun people, vastly preferred to a triple jump, which I'd rarely use, especially considering the lower bat damage, or a weapon that makes you even more vulnerable to soldiers and demos. You can't dodge 'em all, after all. Plus, of course, the combo.

The candy cane is perfect alongside the baby blaster
The candy cane is perfect alongside the baby blaster
why am I laughing so hard at the thought of this

It also means you have no reliable fallback distance weapon to use when out of ammo or with an empty clip for your scattergun, particularly one which is barely affected by a miss. The atomiser is perfect for mobile scouts who need to find alternate routes to evade enemies, or simply to cross usually impassable gaps. The candy cane is especially good versus Pyros, as you can extinguish yourself almost immediately after you've been lit up by one due to the health kit drop. It's also especially good as a mid-battle buff to fight or flee from more enemies, and, as you said regarding the fact that you "can't dodge 'em all", you're probably going to get blown up by Soldiers and stickytraps anyway, so what difference would 15-25% weakness make? Your move.

Boston Basher. [editline]22nd September 2012[/editline] It just pairs up well with the Baby Face's Blaster, since you gain boost while you already walk away. Also, should you miss a swing, you can really fast run to the nearest healthpack.
Considering everyone will have their own abilities with different scout weapons this is a really dumb discussion.
Unarmed combat, anyone?
i would use it, but i have a fetish for my stranges
I can understand maybe using the default scattergun, but not using the sandman or guillotine over stock seems kind of weird to me.
Maybe I don't like getting insta-gibbed. Maybe I like actually have some kind of ranged capability beyond point blank and hate relying on projectile physics.
Demo pimp items are just as bad if not worse than the pirate items he gets.
What does it have to do with pimps?

It's been ages since I've posted loadouts, but I'm way too lazy to do replay screenshots. So here. Boring as hell right now.
May I suggest the MVM tour badge on that demo if you have it?
May I suggest the MVM tour badge on that demo if you have it?
I don't really like badges. All my classes used to wear the Grizzled Veteran, but I think they all look tacky now.

Your move.
Yes, it's true that they're projectiles and are therefore a lot harder to use, but I think they give off a greater payoff for it. I generally use the shortstop, which is another reason for not using the pistol because of the shared ammo, and it also means that reloading is generally less of an issue, admittedly for a decrease in damage. Impassable gaps are all well and good, but if there aren't any on the map the atomiser's usefulness if decreased a fair bit. The candy cane is admittedly rather useful, but for it to have as much affect against pyros as you say, you need to get the kill on them before you burn to death, not always a guarantee. 25% weakness can make the difference between life and death a fairly wider gap, which is especially a problem on such a low-health class as scout. True, the Sandman also does the same, and can be even more of a problem, but I still feel it's ability to render an enemy absolutely helpless for a period of time is invaluable.
