Good lord.
What is going on with that scout.
A Spiral Knight's inspired loadout, same theme as the Pyro one, using those prototype items on the workshop and a more team-colored skin from gamebanana.
What the hell is that Demo skin

In a world, where personal skins have gone way too far...
Its a skin a friend of mine made for me on my birthday a while back, team-colors are hard to tell from a distance but it was the thought that counted.
think of this everytime i see that fucking pyro skin
But half the reason TF2 is worth playing is because it looks nice. :V It's literally a selling point for the game.
False. I don't understand how people play TF2 in DX9...so much visual clutter. The particles from explosions, fire etc. are gross and the motion blur and shiny stuff is disgusting. Then you have ragdolls, and when you're like me and wants to shoot anything that resembles a player they can be really distracting.
Playing in DirectX 8 with lower graphics not only gives you better FPS, but it will definitely give you some benefit to actually ~playing the game~

ugh how can people PLAY good looking games ugh wtf is an artstyle
I play TF2 at around the highest settings except for motion blur.
I've never really had any difficulties with it.
But then again I only play pubs :v:
I play TF2 at the highest settings with blur (motion/forward/falling), forced 16xQSAA, forced detail AO, and I get 40FPS.
And you know what? It sure as hell doesn't make me a worse player.
...I'm speechless. People actually think TF2 is worth gimping graphics for FPS for. Seriously? There are no words.
I dunno, I have an actually good computer, so I get 300fps on high graphics, and I can tell the difference between a dead guy and a not-dead guy, so maybe I'm some kind of minority on this. The minority that likes how the game looks and wants it too look as good as possible.

TBH tf2 looks horrible in dx8. Whats most annoying is that players just disappear if they get killed and that the blood is black boxes. at least for me. tf2 has a fairly simple art style so you can play it with high settings without problems. and i dont see any motion blur in gameplay. just when you take screenshots. also I want to see my unusual hats in their full glory.

yes it's MEANT to look horrible, for the benefit of your gameplay..i play tf2 to frag nerds, not to look at the pretty colours..if i wanted to do that i'd play far cry 3 or something
The ragdolls dissapearing is great, gets them out of the way faster..if there is 4 people coming and you're firing rockets at them sometimes it can be hard to tell who you've killed unless the ragdolls go away instantly
the game looks fine with highframes config anyway...i can run tf2 with max settings at a constant 240 but i choose not to.

see it looks fine
I dunno, I find aliasing incredibly distracting, especially when sniping. I'd rather see the faintly rounded bump of a Sniper's head than a couple colored pixels flicking about.
Taking shadows out is also a bad idea, as they are an excellent indication of where someone might land. This is invaluable to Soldiers and Demos.

Something's wrong if you get distracted that easily
when you're trying to analyse the situation, where to go, count enemy ubers and shoot people all atthe same time stuff can be very distracting
crypto "maximum tryhard" gram
when you're trying to analyse the situation, where to go, count enemy ubers and shoot people all atthe same time stuff can be very distracting
Weird. It never is for me...
Maybe I'm a mutant, but I can actually tell when someone's dead. Why? Because they aren't shooting and nobody else is shooting at them.
Why can't we all just accept the fact people play at different graphics settings and be bestest pals?
:(

When there is 4 people rushing you and you shoot a few rockets from a distance and theyre all together (ie theyre pushing) you cant tell at a glance
Why can't we all just accept the fact people play at different graphics settings and be bestest pals?
:(
Because one person is insisting TF2 is impossible to play with so many distractions, and is trying to show everyone how wrong they are for liking art direction.
See post above mine.
i never said it is impossible, but you cannot deny running an fps config is beneficial aside from boosted fps
When there is 4 people rushing you and you shoot a few rockets from a distance and theyre all together (ie theyre pushing) you cant tell at a glance
Maybe YOU can't.
TF2 is not worth being pro at. It's competitive side is hilariously bad compared to any other game. If you want to frag nerds and get leet kills, play something like Counter-Strike or Dota, that actually have huge sprawling meta-games. You're like a big kid in the kiddie pool, showing off how well you can swim in kneehigh water. It's hilarious.
when you're trying to analyse the situation, where to go, count enemy ubers and shoot people all atthe same time stuff can be very distracting
No it isn't
Players are very distinct and visible against the environment
Ubers are light and flashing with distinct shapes
And shooting people is aiming at said visible players
Valve designed the game with all of this in mind
I repeat, if you still have trouble, then it's you. Not the game at all.
I've met UCG Platinum combatants that are less serious about hardcore gameplay. It's kinda unsettling, Crypto...
Anyway, back on topic?

Hey, it's not hurting you with the fact he does it, he wasn't advertising it or telling anyone to use the graphics. So why are you getting so mad at something that doesn't affect you at all. That's the way he plays the game and how he likes to play the game so why try to shit on his fun and tell him hes stupid for doing something he wants to?
