I was playing [I]when it happened.[/I] I can still remember it, I was on Doublecross and suddenly everybody had these hats that I had never seen before. I checked and found out that it was an event and so I waited for my hat.

Resistances are calculated through a multiplicative method, not an additive.

I used to think Drably Olive was a bad color until I was playing around in itemtest for a cool looking cosmetic loadout to go with Darwin's Danger Shield. Would probably look a bit more in theme if the kerchief was using the skull mouth style. (To go along with the crocodile teeth necklace and the bone ornament hanging on the Danger Shield)
To tell you the truth, there's really not much reason to use either the Razorback or Danger Shield in a Sniper loadout. They're both awful items, and they should probably just get some kind of buff later down the road. Ideally they'd both probably be somewhat more worth using if they both had +25 Health and +Blocks one Backstab Attempt (ie: Both combined into 1 item), and were just skins of each other. (In the same way Postal Pummeler and Axtinguisher are, or Nine Iron and Eyelander and Headtaker) As it is now, there isn't much reason to use anything in the secondary slot but Jarate and occasionally the SMG. Sometimes the new backpack if you're just going to stay sniping the entire match.
The SMG is still sort of good with Sydney Sleeper to blast someone with piss and then finish them off with 15 damage mini-crits from the SMG at midrange. It's also pretty good with the Huntsman (which in and of itself needs a buff to stay relevant compared to the much better rifles that Sniper has) when someone closes in fast (ex: Scout) and there's no time to try to pull another arrow to attempt a kill.

If someone closes in fast, then you made a mistake and/or got taken by surprise and in both cases you should be killed. This kind of thinking is what created the demoknight subclass, something I could live without.
As is, I've taken up using the darwin shield since when I go sniper, I'm not camping but rather up in people's faces. I still think Jarate is better, but that +25 health is nice.

It's not about whether you've made a mistake or whether you should or should not be killed. That sort of thinking is complete nonsense, as nobody plays with 100% perfect accuracy and movement.
The reason the SMG is there is for a backup plan. My primary weapon is too slow to do this, or my opponent is too close to suitably use my primary. That's what the secondary and melee weapon is there for. In the off-chance that the opponent ALSO messes up their close-in by missing a few consecutive shots, you SHOULD actually have a chance to retaliate and win the confrontation.
If people played with 100% perfection, then Sniper (nor most classes) wouldn't even have a use for a Melee weapon at all. "If you didn't 360 no-scope the Spy that was just uncloaking right behind you in less than 2 seconds, you deserve to die."
The reason why DemoKnight shouldn't exist is because Demoman is class about multi-opponent engagement at midrange using explosives. (Destroy everyone at the Sentry nest with stickies, lay sticky traps at the door frame to kill both the Medic and the Heavy walking in, etc.) Blitz offense with single opponents just swinging around a melee weapon to try and get a kill does not even remotely mix in well with Demoman's original class purpose. Blitz offense is an offense tactic, and should be on an offense class. Scout and Pyro could both be okay with blitz offense weaponry, but Pyro would probably be a better choice. In Pyro's case, it'd sort of make sense to close in and try to do quick blitz offense to get kills.
