While I do agree with you on the third misc slot thing, I think way too many people would just go crazy with it.
TF2 needs a third misc slot, but isn't ready for one.

The reason Valve hasn't implemented a 3rd misc slot yet because the miscs/hats people are wearing take up memory/make the game lag more for those with bad computers or something like that.

I'd like the hat slot to be replaced with a straight-up cosmetic slot.
You could wear either a misc or hat in that slot.
And an added Badge slot.
I'd like to take pride in a badge and not let it eat up a misc slot at the same time.
