And then Gastric picked up the sock...
what the fuck is wrong with my game i dont know if I press Y sometimes for chat it shows up and my mouse arrow shows, preventing me from playing this is getting so fucking annoying, any ideas?
The only solution I can think of right now is to stop pressing y, damn it. I remember I had that and had managed to fix it once, but I don't remember how I went about doing it.
I never realized how bad the axtinguisher was until I started playing heavy. That just isn't right. Actually, I never realized how bad everything was until I started playing heavy. Headshots and backstabs are fair but I just get killed by everything, especially direct hit soldiers. I should feel like a minigun wielding behemoth but without a pocket medic I just feel weak. If anyone could give me some pointers for playing heavy, that'd be great.
Jump while revving around corners. Don't get tunnel vision. Know your limits, you may have 300 health, but you're a really big target.
Eh, I already knew that stuff, save for the jump while revving. Thank you though. Any on how to use the weapons other than stock? I use default minigun the most but I feel like using tomislav sometimes. Never works though.
Return after long break of a few months to playing team fortress. Whoa fuck why am I dying so much, holy shit nothing is working, am I slower? I must be slower! Rust builds quick mang, real quick

The 300hp may make it seem like you should be running ahead pulverising everything, but since you're utterly huge almost every shot the enemy makes will hit. I've managed to get quite good at dodging projectiles with most miniguns, but I often die to gunfire. Always sneak, always ambush, never run in solo.
I sometimes go on solo missions as Heavy, sneaking behind Snipers with Holiday Punch. It's more fun than playing Spy :v:

Unless you're absolutely sure you can kill your target and there's nobody else around, run and find health. Pull out your fists of steel if you have them. If you do have a medic, protect him as much as you can. Generally, his life is more important than yours. Communicate with him as well, to tell him to pop an uber, run or stop to receive a sandvich. Shower medics with sandviches. I find the stock minigun to be best. If you're defending and you don't plan to roam around, the brass beast it good too but the reduced movement speed is really painful.
I guess I should start running sandvich and fists of steel. I never use the shotgun or fists anyway.
Never forget about the Shotty. Sandvich is great when you have Medics to heal, but the shotgun is as viable as it was. Also it packs a bit of surprise element since nobody even expects a heavy with shotgun anymore.
I like to carry a shotgun around if I don't have a bitch medic around. I keep the shotgun out when I'm moving to the front in case I spot a spy or other enemies that somehow crossed out lines, so I don't have to worry about revving my minigun. The GRUs are nice too if there's no teleporter up. But even if there was and I have a friend healing me, I still equip my sandvich+GRUs and take the long way around so he can build his uber up and the tele stays free.
I have never found a viable use for a shotgun as heavy, unless I'm out of ammo for my minigun. Which class could you kill as a shotgun heavy, that couldn't out-damage you with their own weapon?

[sp]For best effect. Use Family Business with that[/sp]
But how difficult is it to get a melee kill as heavy eh?
It's easy
With the shotgun, you have more health so unless you're up against another heavy or a soldier or a demo or a sentry gun or if you're really up close to a pyro or a scout, the shotgun could save you when your minigun's out and there's no ammo to be found. It's rare, but a bigger health pool helps if you're going toe to toe with a foe using his melee weapon as well. Or a dumb opponent who doesn't think to pull out his melee weapon when I pull my fists of steel out. I generally equip my KGBs with the Tomislav.
I actually rarely get pocketed as a heavy, strangely enough. I usually play heavy the same way I play pyro (Behind enemy lines/in their base fucking shit up and slaughtering snipers)
I swear to fucking God if I see one more horrible shortstop gibus scout named "Derpy Hooves" I am going to go berserk.
If you get crits from KGB kill. Pull out your shotgun and kill everyone on sight! [sp]For best effect. Use Family Business with that[/sp]
I always combined the KGB with the Tomislav, because of the fast windup~
When I get crits from KGB I run around punching people, laughing like a lunatic.
When I get crits from KGB I run around punching people, laughing like a lunatic.
I think your opposition will be the ones laughing, while you run from a distance swatting the air like Joker from Arkham Asylum.
I think your opposition will be the ones laughing, while you run from a distance swatting the air like Joker from Arkham Asylum.
Pffft you have to attack a clusterfuck from behind. KGB is a art.
For all the Shotgun discussion: It's probably the best secondary weapon for Heavy to use if you don't have a Medic sticking with you. It allows to attack on the move, giving you the ability to be on the offense and defense while being attacked. Pyro chasing you? Direct Hit Soldiers? Spies? Snipers? Shotgun.
When the medic pops his uber absolutely unnecessary when no enemies are around.

People who scream for medic when I'm healing someone else I CAN FUCKING SEE YOU JUST WAIT
People who scream for medic when I'm healing someone else I CAN FUCKING SEE YOU JUST WAIT
Even worse when they're constantly screaming but don't even need a Medic!

I remember one time I was playing medic, I had a 100% charge and was getting attacked by scouts on my own, so I popped and ran away to avoid dying with an uber. Scouts runs off and I find a soldier and start healing him (with a few seconds of uber left). Soldier over voice chat then responds, in the most unintentionally condescending way possible: "Ooooooh, Bad Uber." what the fuck man fuck you
