[...]wep combos[...](which nobody ever complain about:)
Axtinguisher/Degreaser/Reserve Shooter
Are you fucking serious?
Haven't you been around when we had those hundreds of discussions about it?
Actually, since the flare gun crits enemies who are already on fire, you can snipe medics with it if you're careful and accurate.
Most Pyros who do this aren't careful, neither accurate, however. Maye it's just my personal bias towards the shotgun.
What annoys me that my aim fails me.
Weird thing to say, but it's true. I used to hit 80% of my Flaregun shots. I even hit Scouts who were jumping around like crazy. Today and yesterday I failed those. I can't even kill Medics who're strafing.
I have the same problem with the Loch-n-Load.
Pomson 6000
Axtinguisher/Degreaser/Reserve Shooter
Jarate/Shiv
Phlog
I'm not sure what game are you playing but people bitch about these all the time. Well not exactly shiv, Bushwacka.
I'm not sure what game are you playing but people bitch about these all the time.
I don't see people bitching about Pomson (okay, Dead Ringer Spies do, but they shut kee their mouth shut) or about Jarate/Shiv.
People bitch abut Pyro items so much because Pyro is a class often picked by new players. They just W+M1 they hell out of it and then that's it. So Pyro is easy to pick up. With Degreaser+Axtinguisher you have an easy to play loadout for "skilled" players too. And that's what annoys me.
I'm waiting for the day Valve will find a decent way to nerf this. I can already see the whining on SPUF how "UP" the Pyro is. Or that Degreaser+Axtinguisher was perfectly fine.
Other wep combos that have no downsides(which nobody ever complain about:)
Pomson 6000/Southern Hospitality/Pistol
Axtinguisher/Degreaser/Reserve Shooter
Jarate/Huntsman/Shiv
Phlog/Shotgun/Powerjack
Two of those are for the pyro, who is incredibly easy to play, because all you need to do is spam airblast and either use the reserve shooter or axtinguisher to finish off pretty much anyone, no skill required. And yet, nobody bitches about them. If the SPY gets one, though, well, that's just terrible. Why? Because newer players or players who just lack skill tend to gravitate towards Pyro, who is arguably one of the easiest classes.
Any half-decent spy, therefore, poses a threat, so pyros raise their flabby arms in outrage that Valve might add a knife that gives spy some ability to spycheck, and even worse, that some players are smart enough to actually use the combo.
The 2 middle ones have been mentioned many times in this thread and the other two actually have downsides to them.
Pomson and hospitality don't have random crits and you are more vulnerable to fire damage. The lack of crits on a weapon with a max crit chance of 65% can make a huge difference when trying to get rid of spies. Yes, they do have their upsides like draining über and bleeding. But getting back 10% über or 20% cloak isn't going to take that long, maybe a few seconds.

From my experience, if there's a Medic with mic in game he will whine about the Pomson constantly. Only combo that annoys me is Dr. Enforcicle though, I'm fine with the rest.
Dr. Enforcicle has become better. Still annoying though.
Pomson and hospitality don't have random crits.
false.
The Pomson 6000
Level 10 Indivisible Particle Smasher
Does not require ammo
Projectile penetrates enemy targets
Projectile cannot be deflected
On Hit: Victim loses 10% Medigun charge
On Hit: Victim loses 20% cloak
It's got crits, they're just unnoticeable because the pomson doesn't reliably deal damage.
He could be French. In France, they literally say "I have 17 years" :v:
He could be anything. Slavic languages work that way too, and who knows what else.

Spoken like someone who's never played as spy against a Pomsongineer. FYI, the pomson is glitched. It literally drains your cloak in seconds flat if you're cloaked. It doesn't mean jack shit if it can't get crits, because most engies aren't going to be anywhere but behind their sentries, which also makes fire damage irrelevant.

It's because it's a projectile weapon with no ammo, large hitboxes, and spamability that directly affects something that takes time and effort to maintain and use. It's incredibly frustrating for medics to get pegged by a Pomson shot from across the map, and suddenly be unable to pop their uber, resulting in them dying with 90% charge or loosing their patient/pocket.

Whoops, was thinking of Cow Mangler stats while typing that. My bad.

Or as DR spies, who are suddenly completely obsolete because the piece of shit hits you multiple times, thus resulting in you instantly having no cloak and uncloaking with a giant "HERE I AM" noise mere feet away from the engy and whatever pyro happens to be nearby.

Also, for the idiots who bitch about how the spycicle (or enforcicle) makes pyro, Spy's counter, useless: suck a dick if you support the pomson. The pomson makes the Spy completely useless against the engineer, and the spy is the engineer's counter.
Way to exaggerate, Enforcicle doesn't make Pyro useless and neither does Pomson do so with Spies.

Classy.

The replay function not working 99.9% of the time. And this happened on a fucking valve server.
spy is the engineer's counter.
it's more accurate to say that the sapper counters buildings, an Engineer with a base setup has the advantage over a Spy
part of why SH/Pomson are a problem, Engineer never needed Spy countermeasures but hey people don't want to actually put in effort to be effective
Classy.
while "suck a dick" is certainly too rude, I have a very hard time taking anybody who defends the Pomson seriously
It would be the best if Pomson didn't have any draining properties (because it would still be a fun weapon without making people frustrated) and Spycicle didn't have the silent killer attribute, there's YER for that and it has an actual downside to it. IMO.

Get out of my brain, I almost put these exact ideas into my post :v:

The Spy-cicle would be better if Valve would've kept it "broken". As in, no burn-resistance.

But it would still be an easymode YER, then again we have Liberty Launcher and Direct Hit.
But it would still be an easymode YER, then again we have Liberty Launcher and Direct Hit.
What's so easy mode about it?
Sorry, but Direct Hit is harder to use than stock.
What's so easy mode about it?

I think he means that the Liberty Launcher is the Direct Hit on easy mode.
What's so easy mode about it?

No no, I meant Liberty Launcher is like an easymode DH, DH by itself is anything but easy to use (for me at least). And back to Spycicle and YER, silent killer is a very powerful attribute for Spy to have and YER has a big downside for it while the Spycicle only has upside/downside of melting and it creates ice statues which don't matter when you are chain-stabbing without anyone noticing.

Well, I hear the Spycicle-stabs. When eople turn into statues that is.

Working fine for me.
I can't stand when you backstab a sniper, and they go pyro to spycheck all the area's where they think you're hiding.
Such is life as a spy on doublecross I suppose.
Well, I hear the Spycicle-stabs. I barely even see YER Spies nowadays, only those who have the set hat sometimes. There's a lot of people using Spycicle though.

A friend of mine crafted his YER into a Spycicle. He told me that he regretted it and liked the YER a lot better, so I gave him a spare I had.
There is still hope yet.
