Seemingly bullshit non-crit rockets that insta kill you as a 125 hp class.
Or when a scout comes out of nowhere and 2 shots you
Seemingly bullshit non-crit rockets that insta kill you as a 125 hp class.
Direct hit's 25% damage bonus allows it to do that with damage ramp up Still annoying as hell though
Browsing servers having fun looking for a new server to add to my favorites and I come across this amazing motd:
If you have a complaint, professionally type it up detailed as possible, print it out, then wipe your ass with it because honestly it is worthless as your time.
If no one got it, dick admins :v:
Another thing since I recently got the Baby Face's Blaster. I hate how the jump is affected by the slower movement speed. Granted, it makes sense at first, but when you try to jump after having your speed increased your jump and double jump shouldn't be slowed down in mid-air. Where's the momentum?
banned off a server for speedhacking I was just using the baby face's blaster...
The game crashing, mostly. I tried to play shortly after the Pyro update and found it will only run in 5-10 minute chunks. I actually gave up on it and went to play New Vegas because NV was more stable...never thought I'd ever say or do that. When the game is running competitives tend to annoy me a bit. I don't play for wins, KDR, or anything like that. I just pick up a flamethrower and W+M1 my way through the enemy base laughing manaically the whole time. Suicide pyro is fun, what can I say? Anyway, said competitives tend to be so good that I can't get more than fifteen feet out of spawn before getting sniped, which drives me nuts. I'm also annoyed a bit when the rest of the team so bad that I manage to carry them. I'm terrible at TF2! A 0.5 KDR is a damn good run for me! If I'm carrying the team with my absolutely terrible tactics and complete lack of skill what the fuck is everyone else doing?
Unfortuantlly it's going to take ages for people to learn about new weapons. No no, disregard the new models and sounds. You're still in charge of TF2, admin.
People who play by just chasin people down while firing, oblivious to things like strategy or self preservation. Not fun to fight or fight alongside. Hey, buddy, that sentry hasn't moved, why do you still run through the same area. And when Ikill that sentry, I get effed in the A by an engineer with enough Revenge crits to recreate the Holocaust. Thanks, "teammate". Fun fact, my iPad thinks that sentry is actually señor. What the Christ, Apple.
The amount of slow baby faced Scouts making themselves look like spies. [sp]The amount of spies taking advantage of this :([/sp]
Fuck yoooouuuuuuu Steam and/or TF2. Stop validating the game and getting stuck at 100% every day. In unrelated news, my backpack is getting full!
Fun fact, my iPad thinks that sentry is actually señor. What the Christ, Apple.
Señor down!
I'm a Degreaser / Shotgun / Whatever melee suits the situation-pyro myself.
Is that a clever way to hide the fact that you use axtinguisher? :v:
I was gonna post the same thing but you beat me to it :v: Today I got called a W+M1 pyro for puffing someone's back for about 2 seconds with the backburner. That's the entire time I had the flamethrower actually on. Not to mention about half my kills around the time were crit flares and some backscratcher kills. I swear, some people think that the flamethrowers are just airblast machines and nothing more. Almost every time I got a kill with my flamethrower I got called a W+M1 pyro, even when most of the time I was simply finishing off someone or strafing/sneaking behind someone to use the backburner's crits.
W+M1 is basically just a buzzword these days. I've had people say "W+M1" when I killed them with a reflected direct hit rocket, so the word has almost absolutely no meaning left anymore. My only exception is the Phlogistinator, it doesn't encourage any skillful tactics and I have no what so ever respect for anyone who uses it, it is the true evidence that W+M1 as a complaint still has some validity.
Señor down!
(Original img was a gif and I slapped it together in 5 secs, before anyone goes all jpegrape on me)
Is that a clever way to hide the fact that you use axtinguisher? :v:
Sometimes! But even when I do, I tend to forget I even have it equipped because the shotgun is just too good. And speaking of pyros, met a spy with e[SUP]2[/SUP] in his name that told me to kill myself because I protected our engie as pyro and was capable of hearing his dead ringer decloaks when he did them standing on top of the engie's dispenser. That sort of stuff annoys me, but it was really fun to juggle him in mid air until his dead ringer went away, then smacking his head in with my Homewrecker and doing the schadenfraude.
I like the Axstinguisher. Fuck the complaints, it's one of the only ways I can kill a Heavy from full health if I meet him in close combat. The only downside is enemy Pyros and underwater battles. Powerjack is a considerable, but makes me more vulnerable to melee damage. Backscratcher makes me a worse medic patient. Volcano fragment has probably one of the most redundant stats on a Pyro melee ever. Third Degree is only useful on medics. Homewrecker's situational usage encourages a needlessly defensive playstyle to be in any way useful. [editline]1st July 2012[/editline]
There is nothing wrong with Phlogistinator's concept, the execution is just bad. Deal damage to store several seconds of crits to activate before starting an ambush. The instant heal and damage resistance just make it usable in the middle of a fight, ruining the whole idea. And the model doesn't fit the stats, unless they change the taunt to Pyro activating the critical overload. Also, 'W+M1' is a joke.
I think it would probably be an alright unlock if it didn't have the damage resistance, because then it would actually encourage skill and ambushing tactics instead of just being rewarded for running in a straight line towards your enemy holding down the fire button.
Axtinguisher's fine by damage in my opinion. It deals the same damage at point blank (with the initial flame added), as 2 soldier rockets deal at point blank. Same with two scattergun shots point blank. The flare gun's the one I think isn't that great. flame a bit, airblast, and suddenly you can't dodge or move at all while they peg an easy-to-aim flare straight into you for 90. As a scout that's almost always an instakill.

Talk about hypocricy.
Wait a second, you complain about Phlogistinator and justify Axtinguisher? Talk about hypocricy.
Why? The axstinguisher still requires surprise tactics, puff'n'sting is rather easy to defend yourself against if anticipated. I like it for quickly taking out medics, and for ambushing classes with health advantages. Most of all, I like it because Pyro's other melee weapons mostly suck ass. The Phlogistinator doesn't encourage any what so ever skillful or tactical play what so ever.
Not after the nerf, bro. And you can't just waltz inside the enemy team and activate the taunt, you know.
Eh. Regardless, I find it significantly less respectable than any other weapon in the game, and Valve's worst design on weapon stats to this date.
Axtinguisher is good if a medic is healing you, the healing goes slow but that makes so the ubercharge builds quicker than if you'd be healed normally
Don't you mean the [del]Sandraker[/del] Backscratcher?

But I did meet one that was actually in the roster one time that used Dr. Enforcicle with the justification "Until it's nerfed, why wouldn't I use it?"... while complaining that pyro as a CLASS is overpowered "f2p garbage".
Don't you mean the [del]Sandraker[/del] Backscratcher?
Yeah, I haven't slept that good. Thanks for noticing me.

I use it instead of, and just like, an extinguisher. Puff of flame, then powerjack to death. The backscratcher is the quintessential ambush pyro melee weapon. Behind enemy lines, medkit stealing and all that. Also great for medieval mode. I carry the homewrecker as often as I can. Saving an engie's sentry can mean the game on defense and saving a teleporter on attack. Also, having an engie thank you for saving his stuff gives you a very nice feeling inside.
My hit sounds not working can someone get me a link to that custom tf2 optimizer or whatever that will fix my fps problems? cause my fps dumbing down to about 10 fps is starting to make me angry
So yeah, I'm already seeing idiots on trade servers trying to sell genuine Robot Chicken hats for unthinkable prices because "genuine no longer available so it's like buds". Meanwhile myself, who actually watches the damn show, didn't get the code even though I signed up for the newsletter as soon as it was revealed.
