look for the folder where the quake sounds are stored, delete them, go in-game, settings > multiplayer > select "Do not download custom sounds from the server."

I disabled that looong time ago and vsh and other modes work just fine. It doesn't download custom textures for gmg maps but who gives a crap about that.
I'm probably terribly late but, the destruction of the equalizer. I don't think it was OP at all, it definitely didn't need to be turned into two weapons.

If I had to guess anything, I think people who actively participate in spawncamping might be acting on the same instinct of enjoyment one gets from smashing a bunch of bugs or burning an anthill.
I hate the Pomson 6000, the Manmelter, the Cowmangler 5000, the Righteous Bison, the Eureka Effect (this one's actually pretty safe imo), the Phlogistinator, and the Third Degree (ditto on the Eureka Effect, kinda). They all look really cool (mostly), but I can't stand the ideas of laser beams and other ridiculous things like that in TF2.

The weapons were nicely modeled, but I would've loved them if they just weren't WOWY ZOWY ZAPPY GUNS. They would've been a lot cooler with rockets and bullets. Heck, they could've even had a glowy particle trail or something.

Encountered the most perfect example of a typical smug demoman earlier. He had a Hale's Own sticky launcher named "2ez" with over 30k kills on it, a pink Max Head, sticky launcher and grenade launcher named "F2P DESTROYA". He votekicked various people because they had mercenary badges with join dates after the uber update and was just in general a complete and utter jerk.
He did NOT take too kindly to being dominated by me using the FaN and wearing my pink Gibus that I keep around only for people like him. Went on a rant how I'm "worse than f2p" and should die irl because I use the FaN, because "it's not allowed in comp, so it's for noobs"

I pretty much established a little rule for myself for those kinds of situations: If your balls haven't dropped, you have no right to speak over the mic.

I see him pretty much as a high risk high reward class. He can kill anyone who gets too close pretty fast, but he's also a massive slow moving target especially vulnerable to spies and snipers.
He's a class that is really dependent on teamplay though. If someone sticks around to defend him against spies and other things that can catch him off guard or have him outnumbered, he can be very efficient and hard to take down. If all his teammates are lone wolves, Snipers, Spies, and Engineers however, it can be rather easy to use his slow movement speed and large mass against him.

I can't remember, it was one of those 2pro4school names with all sorts of fancy characters and "LFT" added to the end. I feel bad for whatever team gets the guy on their roster.
And another classic for on-topicness: badmins.
Joined a friend that rarely plays tf2, and he had somehow been placed on a really shit server by quickplay. The admin used hurtme -9999 on himself among other things, but it was funny when he had to ask the people he abused how to ban people.
It annoys me that I can do regular things with the stock weapons, but as soon as I equip a weapon that relies on special circumstances to work (for example, the Diamondback or Bazaar Bargain), then I can't do any of these tasks at all.

He's not OP (barring unlocks) he's just too easy to use for how effective he is
Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to fix this without completely changing Heavy (though reverting the spin up buff would help a lot)
