I'm afraid Valve doesn't mind puff'n'sting Just like any other cheap combo... Just take a look at spy's polycount set. You're free to use whatever watch you like, but they added this blink time penalty which doesn't exist with Dead Ringer, and also uncloak volume bonus which is worth it only with DR since it doesn't affect volume at all, it just swaps DR sound with IW sound. And about the old enforcer... You know how it was.
Are you people still complaining about the pyro ? If the dude in a bright red or blue baggy suit can sneak into your base without the help of disguises or cloaking or any type of mobility boost, all while avoiding or killing enemies in his way, he deserves the kill. Besides, without the axtinguisher, the demoknight becomes a better close range fighter, and as someone who thinks the demo's WAR! weapons that aren't the scottish resistance are terrible, that doesn't sit right at all with me.
So walking half a circle around the battle and doing nothing useful makes someone deserving of one, random, one-hit kill? Perhaps as a consolation prize.
But I like playing Spy :(
why do people still use that horrible weapon.
why do people still use that horrible weapon.
But that's impossible. He's at full health = no speed.
But that's impossible. He's at full health = no speed.
People still pull it out. Once my heal target started firing at a heavy instead of the sentries that were the main problem and then pulled out his escape plan and walked away, leaving me to die.
People who complain about puff'n'sting. Honestly, if you're unaware/overconfident/stupid enough to get into his axe range, you deserve to die. And people who say it takes no skill also grind my gears; it's pretty much a backstab, but you have no disguise and no invisibility to aid you into getting into melee range.
I hate how underused the Beta is. I would have loved to see the Pyromania stuff get tested beforehand, but noooo. We get garbage (dohoho) like the Beggar's Bazooka with no warning whatsoever.
I thought everyone wanted that set.
I think he's calling the stats garbage.
I really don't have too much of an issue with Puff 'n' Sting or anything, the only problem I have with it is that I think the weapon switch bonus is a bit too generous. What I don't understand is how Valve thought that less direct damage would fix it. Has no one thought of lowering the switch yet? I also have a problem with, as Vodkavia mentioned, that the Axtinguisher is basically a direct upgrade to the fire axe. It just makes it so that you can barely fight underwater (at least if you don't use the shotty, which isn't totally reliable anyways), and that melee against other pyros is ineffective, both of which are negligible at best, especially since not all maps have water anyways. I would never use Puff 'n' Sting for the sole reason of saving my Homewrecker. There's nothing that makes me feel better than smacking a sapper off a building, especially when the engineer's dead.
Annoys me when I have my xhair focused on an enemy i.e. heavy but a friendly pyro keeps juggling him with compression blast (doing no damage) and I just can't track the heavy who then crits and destroys both of us
What if they nerfed the degreaser so airblasting an enemy puts them out? That would make puff'n'sting far harder.
Would be griefed to hell. Any teammate could completely fuck with their friendly pyros with that.
Would be griefed to hell. Any teammate could completely fuck with their friendly pyros with that.
I think that would be a rare occasion.
Would be griefed to hell. Any teammate could completely fuck with their friendly pyros with that.
How about they'd make it so it would only put out the fires that you yourself started?
I think he's calling the stats garbage.
I thought the stats on it weren't that bad.
How about they'd make it so it would only put out the fires that you yourself started?
Seems like it'd be a bit risky to do. Currently TF2 transfers fire ownership to whoever did the burning last. I still prefer the "wearer can be ignited" thing because it allows you to stop and think - "Hey, that's a burning pyro. He's going to one-hit me if I get too close" and run for your life before he pulls his melee out.
I thought the stats on it weren't that bad.
Three rockets launched at you at once. That's a one hit kill for about.. 8/9 classes if all three hit, and this of course doesn't count crits. All this for a little bit of preparation.

I get axetinguished like four or five times a week, it's woefully easy to avoid.
I still think the degreaser needs a harder damage nerf. It's all about combos, so you should be fucked if you ever have to use it for more than 1 second.
I'd like the Beggar's Bazooka better if it fired all the rockets at the same time, or at least a bit closer together... I was kinda bummed out to find that it really wasn't at all able to make you make significantly stronger rocket jumps like with 2 sticky bombs. THAT would have made it a perfectly fine and fun to use unlock, while as of now it's mostly just decent. speedy teammates that are in critical condition but seem to harbor a fear for mediguns (or just don't see me) there needs to be lines for medic that are like "HOLD STILL" or "I'M COMING" or "THE DOKTOR WILL BE WITH YOU IN LIKE, 2 FUCKING TICS SO JUST STOP MOVING" that occur when you use the medic button on a teammate
I have something similar. People tend not to slow down for a fraction of a second so I can whip them and get them where they need to go in a fraction of the time.
i remember a moment where I had good communication with a soldier he had the whip, he and I used the "help" command. I go to him, we both get speedboost, everyone wins
There's a map devoted to the whip.

I like it though, it is really unique.
People who vote "Yes" to a votekick issued by some idiot who yells that you're hacking. Just because you're on top of the scoreboard and they'd rather not have to deal with you. If you people read this, I hope you step on a Lego.
