Loch n Load, Charge n Targe, Eyelander.
All it takes is a little finesse, and you are transformed into a walking talking one-man rape machine who can take shit loads of damage and deal it out just the same.
Even better if you get a few heads.
And all you have to do is aim the 'nades.
Two consecutive shots to an Engie nest is usually enough to kill everything and everyone in the immediate area.

I think it broke with the MvM update. I recently did 100-damage pipes on Chargin' Targe Demomen, as well as 90-damage crit-flares.

Are you certain? I use the Chargin' Targe (eyelander + Loch n Load, shit gets wrecked) and the damage resistance bonuses work as they always did.

Maybe it's an occasional thing.

Crits ignore DR unless it's specifically "Crit DR", like the Heavy's Sleeping Bear set gives him.

I still take a single point of afterburn when using the targe.

I traded off all my valuable cosmetics just for the Strange Kritz alone...

it was worth it

1. I see that my team is pinned and doesn't have a Sniper
2. I go Sniper, and being decent, I get a few headshots
3. Headshot victims get assmad and go Sniper to prove they're better than me
4. Seeing the abundance of Snipers on their team, a bunch of my team go Sniper
5. One guy on the enemy team goes Spy and backstabs one of our Snipers
6. Everyone on my team goes Pyro to kill that one Spy
7. Counterclassing continues to infinity and nothing gets accomplished objective-wise for the rest of the round

This is why I don't go Sniper much.
