"this troper hates the homewrecker"
When you have the degreaser, it's easier to just quickswitch to the homewrecker, one shot the sentry and harass the engie than having to burn it while it's regenerating for like 1-2 sec.
Also by dropping that sentry, the engie is hopping you will focus on it so he can kill you, they never expect you to be able to destroy it that easily.
Homewrecker pyros advertising the degreaser... now I've seen everything :v:
So here's what's happening:
>The laptop I play TF2 on had its charger broken, so I haven't been playing anything for a while (hence my steam rating being lower)
>I browsed my achievements to pass the time

WHAT THE HELL?
[editline]when[/editline]
The worst part is that Tartan Spartan was nine tenths over.
Luckily chief of staff was intact.

Yeah, sometimes my stats reset, like when an update occurs or the game crashes.

Personally, I have no problem with the Degreaser.
I'd be fine with Puffsting if the Axetinguisher was changed to mini-crit burning targets but also get random crits, or something to that effect.
Hell, if Valve wanted to, they could make Puff Sting an official set with its own effects.
This way, you could nerf Puffsting while leaving the Degreaser and Axetinguisher 100% untouched.

I've sent them emails about making a puff'n'sting set that only affects the problem areas of using the axt+degreaser.
Minicrits with melee, 15% increased damage taken from all sources, criticals remove afterburn, airblast removes your afterburn from enemy targets, or -40% critical damage.
Any one of those nerfs would make me happy.
[sp]Although a combo of two of those nerfs would be acceptable as well.[/sp]

I don't want them to nerf puff'n'sting from being possible, it's a viable playstyle and it's useful in many situations (not just for high damage output). Just give it a proper downside that does not effect its usage, such as increased explosive damage vulnerability. It does not need a nerf against Scouts and Heavies though since one is his main counter and the other one is hard to catch, and all the other classes should just learn to bloody stay the fuck away from Pyro in close range.

Removing the Axstingisher's ability to crit on burning enemies is like removing the ability to remove sappers from the homewrecker. It's something a lot of people want, and a lot of people DO NOT want. You're removing it's main unique feature, all because you don't like being beaten by it. Really, if they nerf how the Axstinguisher is used right now, I damn well hope they change the Homewrecker to be less of an asshole nerf against spies too. Make it better against Engineers instead.

I think whats funny is you found Waldo.
I was hoping for 60ish new posts of fresh stuff, but when I say Pybro talk, I just knew it couldn't be true.
I hate when you're medic, and there's always that one person that is solely intent on just killing you. Whether it be the scout who tries to double jump your whole team, the suicidal dive-bomb soldier or the pyro that always runs in a straight line towards you.
Sure the needleguns are excellent weapons, but if your team mates can't stop that demo from spamming stickies in only your direction, well.

Sorry, I know removing the crits would make it near useless, didn't realize I put that in there till I posted.
I think I'd want to see something other than just removing stats altogether to balance the tactic. Perhaps it would take longer to swing? Or increase weapon switch duration? Either would give players much more of a chance, especially if the Pyro's using the crutch combo (Degreaser, Reserve, Axtinguisher). They could even remove the damage nerf, as long as the combo requires a bit more dedication.
That brings me to another thing... Crutch combo Pyro just isn't fun to play for me. You might as well have a flamethrower that almost instantly knocks the target back and kills them, since that's what the combo amounts to; A flamethrower than instantly kills the target, even if the target sees you a second or two in advance. Something so easy is just boring to me, I'm not even going to sugar coat it. I play Backburner/Shotgun/Axtinguisher because I at least feel it's more sporting, opposed to a combo that can be fast enough to crit another Pyro if your ping is high enough.
It all goes back to a little thing in game theory known as "Dominant Strategy". Crutch Combo grants almost instantaneous kills on all but two classes with very little effort, so why would the average player use anything else?
I like the degreaser+axtinguisher combo, and don't want it nerfed, but it IS pretty damn powerful.
Perhaps have a 10% movement speed decrease to actually make you have to ambush with it, instead of being able to run up to enemies and instakilling them head-on. Although, this would still allow pyros to airlock people.
Just give it increased explosive damage vulnerability. This alone would be a pretty major downside that would be very noticable. It would force the Pyro to ambush Soldiers and Demomen more, or to become very good at airblasting. I think this would be enough. Heavies already have a massive damage output and a lot of health, so the Axstinguisher really should be useful against him, it's one of the major things that makes the Axstinguisher a good weapon, the ability to kill your main counter class if you ambush him. Scouts don't need protection from it, they already have double jumps and very fast speed to allow them to heckle Pyros easily. Medics do not need it, it is their patients job to protect them from the Pyro. Spies, Engineers, and Snipers, should stay the FUCK away from the Pyro and not bitch and moan when they fail to stay the fuck away from Pyro.

"I'm so hip I lowball myself before you plebs even get the chance."
Speaking of puff and sting, it's annoying to be be a Spy (or any class, really) and turning down a hallway only to be confronted with two Puff and Sting Pyros with a Medic plugged up their arses.
It's like walking into the gates of Hell, except getting gangbanged by letterboxes.

Was it a conga line of them?
My biggest pet peeve of them all is being ignored.
I hate it in real life as well as video games.
I say something, do something, whatever something, and nobody acknowledges my existence or efforts.
It happens a lot in ingame conversations, as well as gameplay tactics and such.
I guess where it bothers me the most is when I've created something and want some kind of feedback or recognition, and I get nothing. It's not getting panned that gets me, it's getting passed over entirely. It's very blood-boiling to have no idea how to get people to say what they think of my work.

Yea it's my spray.
The tank is coming.
"C'mere, cupcake." as I toss my Escape Plan aside.
CRITICAL! 596 damage to the tank!
Engineer's coming towards me with a toolbox in his arms.
Survive the explosion thanks to my Rocket Jumper.
Sentry Buster comes along.
Tank is passed.
Sentry Buster catches up to Mr. Engie.
It blows up.
Unfortunate enough to be caught on my way down.
Entire scenario happens in three seconds.

Considering I main Spy, even one Pyro qualifies as a conga line.
The fact that a good-looking hat like this can't be worn year-round:

I mean, I know you could find servers that have Halloween-mode enabled, but still... the only one I know is Skial. :/
Almost every server I've played has had Halloween 24/7
Halloween vs. Christmas dildo complaint #14258
The Holy Hunter looks like an average Gamebanana skin of the week, I really can't stand the sight of it. Almost as bad as the vibrating tree.
