Also, selling a Headshot Kills part for 6 ref, reasonable no?
I've bought every one I've gotten for 2 keys (5 refined) and I'd sell any I needed to sell for 1 key and 1.66 (4.22).
no
He's good at medium range with the flare gun too.
He argued that too, I told him that it wasn't hitscan which made it harder to land hits on far targets and he asked me "What's your definition of 'hitscan.'"

I guarantee he had no idea what hitscan meant.
"Hitscan what?"
He argued that too, I told him that it wasn't hitscan which made it harder to land hits on far targets and he asked me "What's your definition of 'hitscan.'"
i would have just given up at that point.
Why do people keep thinking that Pyro is the second fastest class?
With the Gas Jockey's Gear, he outruns Medic

3%.
but we ain't talking about some sets!
Why do people keep thinking that Pyro is the second fastest class?
I guess some people forget the Medic exists outright...?
I guess some people forget the Medic exists outright...?
I'd imagine there are a good amount of uninformed people who don't know that the medic is slightly faster than the other classes.

Shit like this that takes up half the fucking page
seriously no one wants your shit
Except the pyro really is overpowered. He's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too good at his job, and he has no effective counters.
Soldier? Airblast spam.
Demo? See soldier.
Scout? Flaregun.
Medic? Puff n' sting.
Engineer? Flaregun him as he's hiding behind his sentry, or flame it from a spot where it can't reach you, airblast him up if he repairs, and then shoot him.
Heavy? Puff n sting, or else ignite and spam flares til he dies or goes away.
Spy? Hah.
Sniper? Flamethrower, easy.
Actually, might as well replace everything with "Airblast spam," because that's seriously all he needs to do. As long as you can airblast spam as Pyro, you will almost never die.
I'd imagine there are a good amount of uninformed people who don't know that the medic is slightly faster than the other classes.
But what if the pyro in question has the Gas Jockey's Gear?
He argued that too, I told him that it wasn't hitscan which made it harder to land hits on far targets and he asked me "What's your definition of 'hitscan.'"
Except it's not hard to land hits on targets at any range short of sniping range(which no class but the sniper SHOULD be able to use) if you have even the vaguest idea of how to aim. Also, saying an already unbalanced weapon is balanced because it can't snipe is even worse than not knowing what a hitscan weapon is.
Oh shit, looks like I've invoked the rage of the pyro purists, judging by how I'm getting lots of dumbs but no arguments as to why my post is dumb.

oh god, rad mccool: pyro edition
Anyone who thinks pyro is OP needs to try playing somewhere that isn't a valve server.

so you listed some ways a pyro can kill a person
how does that make him op?
[editline]27th September 2012[/editline]
reflect spam doesnt work, you have to time it right or youre wasting ammo.

turn the fuck around
The only thing I think is bullshit about Pyro is that a Degreaser/Axtinguisher one can run right up to you in the open, tank two rockets and still W+M1/M2+Q/W+M1 you in the face.
Like I've said before, might as well be an instant kill flamethrower. Degreaser or Axtinguisher needs added explosion weakness to force the Pyro to actually have to flank to get a kill with the set. Pyros these days don't know how to fucking flank, and that's really upsetting to someone who's been playing TF2 before airblasting was even an idea.
Big paragraph
Oh, Pyro is so overpowered when he's played perfectly by a player with ultimate skill.
Just like Scout:
Scouts: Shoot him
Soldiers: Shoot him
Medics: Shoot him
Heavies: Shoot him
Pyros: Shoot him
Snipers: Shoot him
Spies: hah
Demo: Shoot him
Engineer: Use a pistol if he's behind a sentry, otherwise shoot him
Actually, replace all of them with jump, because that's basically all he needs to do. As long as you can jump as Scout, you will almost never die.

Unless you only play on Valve's server or have perfect aim, you'll mostly get destroyed when you try these things.
- Airblast spam without timing will just get you killed against a soldier. And if he is not dumb he has multiple way to kill you (shotgun, or just aim where you won't be able to airblast).
- Airblast is a joke against demo.
- If the scout is aware of you he won't let you go near him, and good luck hitting him with the flaregun if he dodges (which h is supposed to be good at).
- A medic won't be alone often.
- The engineer is really situational: a decent sentry positioning won't let you do what you listed, and spamming flares is dangerous because it will make you a sitting target for his teamates.
- Heavy: just no. Any aware heavies will kill you before you reach them. If you manage to flank him or hit him with 3-4 flares, then you deserve the kill.
- Spies: well you are his counter after all.
- Sniper: if you get near him you deserve the kill
Any class is OP when playing against bad people, no need to be a "pyro purist" to see that.
I bet this is going to turn into Pyro discussion once again and always.

[sp]The homewrecker is the best Pyro melee and the Puff and Sting is the stupidest thing ever huehuehue[/sp]
Third-party trade sites annoy me. Trade servers will always be a bit better in my opinion for three reasons...
One, dicking around and shooting the breeze with potential customers can warm them up to you, making it more likely they'll actually consider buying your stuff or selling you theirs.
Two, being able to visually SEE the item you want can make things less of an indecision. "Oh cool, so THAT's how that item looks in-game, that looks awesome. How much?"
Three... A WHOLE LOT FEWER ASSCLOWNS. If the admins are good and someone's being a douche or showoff, they can be quickly removed. No whining, no bitching on unrelated forums about them.

But a site makes the search much, much easier.
But a site makes the search much, much easier.
I treat it as a last resort. I don't want to be sitting in Darwin's waiting room listening to the constant warbling of joke offers and stupidity for too long.
You're also far less likely to meet profit machines when in trade servers. There are a lot of people on Outpost who don't even play and never have. They just shark, overcharge and repeat for real dosh.
The Pyro's counter is range, there, said it. If he ambushes you or flanks you or sticks an axtinguisher up where the sun doesn't shine then tough shit. If you're at a distance you can easily kill him, but if you let him get into range then you're pretty much stuffed unless you have backup.
Why do people complain about the Pyro doing his job? I'll admit, I'm not fond of puff-and-sting but technically it fits within Pyro's role.
And speaking of roles and all that, why do people complain about Spies being OP when the best thing you can do to counter a Spy is be aware of your surroundings and spycheck? Nothing ruins my day more than getting my ass kicked whenever I'm uncloaked but at least that team is good enough to know to check me.
Whenever someone says "I'm a good Spy trust me" I take that with a grain of salt. 'Good Spy' is situational. Even a 'good Spy' can't do anything with a tight enemy team. The Spy excels at many things, but people have to realise that there's a time when you have to switch and play something else goddamnit.

The Pyros in question are not flanking. They don't know how to flank. They are charging up, soaking damage and getting an easy kill, their own life be damned.

If you're talking about a lone Pyro then I have a hard time believing that. At point blank, rockets do about 100+ damage. If pocketed, then yes, he's got a constant 260 health, of course he can tank 2 rockets.

They usually do this fresh off an overheal.
I can distinctly remember a situation on Coldfront. Mid point. I was defending alone because a Heavy wiped the rest out, and I saw a Degreasquisher Pyro coming up the road. Quite far away still, so I shoot him with a few rockets. One hits his feet, two hit him straight on, and he airblasts one that misses. By the time I'd switched to shotgun he'd already lit me on fire, puffed me against a wall and was priming his melee.
These things shouldn't happen. Pyros shouldn't be rewarded for doing things like this. They need to actually learn how to surprise the enemy, which was the class' original goddamn job.

I could say you should've retreated, but were I in your shoes I would've done the same thing. Keep in mind you're talking to a Spy player who has to accept that Pyro's are pretty much the hard counter. Curiously, what was his health afterwards? The times I've thrown a few rockets at a Pyro he dies pretty fast without a Medic.

He had about 40 health, but that's because he was fresh off an overheal (a Spy backstabbed his Medic before I saw him, as I later saw in the replay). He'd spent the whole round with a buttplug Medic doing the same thing to the rest of my team, and that one strategy alone was carrying his own team, even when they were down 2 people. Despite that I'd only seen him briefly twice before in the match, so I didn't know he'd pull this crap. Otherwise I likely would have stepped back.
So basically I was punished for something I had no way of knowing about, combined with the luxuriously easy-to-use combo he had. Words cannot express my frustration.
