Scout's the pyro's counter-class. He can just run away from the flames and shoot pyro with the scatter and pistol.
Pyro should be in the defense section of the class select screen, swap him with demoman who can actually do a one-man push.
How do you counter puff n sting, then? You can't run away, because the pyro already airblasted you.
Airstrafe.

The only class who can really do airstrafe is scout, and most pyros would never get close enough to puff n sting him unless he was AFK anyways.

Fucking this. The pyro might be half suited to offense, but he is best at defense(spychecking, airblasting back ubers, airblasting the intelligence carrier, airblasting the bomb pushers back, ect)
You insist what I'm saying is stupid, and yet you won't actually say why. Is this because you disagree, and are not mentally capable of distinguishing the difference between disagreeing with someone's opinion and them being genuinely stupid, resulting in you combining the terms into interchangeable usage?
Or maybe you have niggling little doubts in the back of your mind that perhaps your blind defense of the pyro is not actually that great an idea, and what I'm saying is making it harder to shake off.

People have been making points this entire page as to why what you're saying is boxtastically stupidaciously dumb. You're picking on one person who's making fewer points than everyone else to say 'nu uh youre not making points ergo me = right'.
As for the sneakily edited in puff n sting point, just use your second jump to escape. Or your third jump. Or perhaps your fourth jump, depending on just how mobile you want to be as Scout. I'm not going to defend puff n' sting any further as I absolutely detest that 'tactic'.
I love the lollichops taunt, but I don't want to have to be in Pyrovision to use it. Works nice on non-serious games and community gamemodes like Dodgeball, though.
Yeah, I feel the exact same way about the Rainblower... The non-pyroland taunt is awesome, but I never get to see it myself. I wish you could like set a style to them to disable pyroland.
The only class who can really do airstrafe is scout
Nope.
Anyone who has base speed+ can airstrafe out of an airblast.
Some popular youtube spy can even airstrafe himself out of a corner.
I think I've seen scripts that disable pyroland, but haven't tried any because I play on dx81.

The rainblower taunt doesn't make much sense to me, cool as it may be. Flamethrower's taunt is more fitting to the lollichop taunt either way.
Pyro is like soldier in the sense that he can easily kill anything, [B]but anything can easily kill him.

What the hell are you talking about, how can you easily kill a soldier?
What the hell are you talking about, how can you easily kill a soldier?
Aim and shoot.

On the plus side, juggling Pyros is fun.

I like it because it's sinister and has an evil laugh to go with it, basically the counter-opposite of what I'm forced to see myself in pyroland.
You know what I dislike?
There are 2 melee weapons Pyros use:
Axtinguisher and Homewrecker (reskins added for one's own taste)
Where's the love for the Volcano Fragment? Third Degree? Lollichop?
I switch between the Pan, Third Degree, Lollichop and Powerjack. This may be a wrong thread to say this, but I love Third Degree for how it looks and sounds, I don't remember ever making its attribute work though. That bugs me a bit.
Third Degree and Annihilator's sounds are pure pleasure for ears.

I will never unequip my shotgun as the pyro.
Ever.

For me it's weird. One minute the flaregun is godly, but soon it becomes shit so I switch to shotgun which gets godly but soon turns to shit so I switch to flaregun whi....
The cycle never ends.
The Dead Ringer. It seems to be all any spy uses, I can count on one hand how many cloak spies I've seen. Seems like all the stealth in Spy has gone out the window. It doesn't even help most of the time, it's like the Razorback.

Yeah. They are both strong, and weak in different areas. The Shotgun deals very good damage to all classes in medium and close range, and can be used underwater, but is worthless at long range and you have to hit more shots for it to be useful. The Flaregun is good at long and medium range and excels at finishing off fleeing enemies, it's good for heckling Heavies around corners and it requires less shots hit than the shotgun to be useful, but it's useless under water or against enemy Pyros and it can be a lot harder to aim than the Shotgun.
[editline]27th September 2012[/editline]
But mostly, the amount of enemy Pyros and water is often a big factor for whether I will use the Flaregun or Shotgun, since I'm fairly good at hitting enemies with it at all ranges.

You need to use it right to use it well. Half the time this involves not even using the cloak and simply dying, but you're dying with mystery. You're dying with espionage! When you die, the enemy won't know you're not dead when you're not dead and you'll be dead when you're not. And often when you are. It's all about mind games. Even I don't know what's going on.

We need an "on the fence" rating.
We need an "on the fence" rating.
But it does help, just in order for it to help, you need to be a bit more sneaky than most. For example, taking realistic amounts of damage. How often do you see Spies dying from fall damage? Almost never. Death in a single shot? Pretty much the same. At least take a few hits before you drop a corpse and go on your way, then people won't be quite so suspicious. Also actually dying is a good strategy with a watch to stop you dying, funnily enough. Makes people not quite so cautious about when there's a dead ringer around.
I often disguise as Engies or Snipers on my own team as a dead ringer Spy, people are often a lot less suspicious when they kill these enemies in one shot.
Also... I often disguise as enemy spy when I'm hanging out with my teammates, it makes it less suspicious looking for enemies to see one of their teammates running in the same direction as the enemy without being killed.
On the topic of DR, I love the saharan spy. Silent unloak after doing some mindgames with a heavymedic couple or on that engineer by standing on him then silently unlcloaking and killing him.
Something I hate= Very young people who think they're hot shit and sings like a stranded whale.
(Range is not a class, nor is it an effective counter, because the pyro can either hide and stonewall an enemy with the threat of jumping out when they get close, or just spam his flaregun.)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Pyro an ambush class where corners and fast reactions are their core advantage in a situation? That Valve, mind you, did on purpose, because Pyro is weakened at long-medium range? You can't blame people for playing a class as it was originally supposed to be played. That's like telling a Demoman and Heavy that they're not allowed on the battlefield because they have to protect the game objectives...
Fuck, I started another Pyro debate.
I gotta stop with that shit.
Not that I hate it, but it's kind of an "oh you" moment when I see a pyro/demoknight trying to hide and their weapon is sticking out around the corner
I've done this before, wondering if they can see the flamethrower.
This kinda stuff.

People who trade me and ask if I'm selling something. If I don't say I'm selling it then I'm not selling it, and that's that.
Or people who random trade and throw up a ton of shit without saying what they're buying first. I always click accept and go silent. After all, who am I to refuse such offerings?
