I think Degreaser + Reserve Shooter is fine. It requires aim, and it lessens a Pyro's staying power in mid-range combat due to a severely limiting clip size. And to boot, it's only minicrits, so while it does pack extra punch, it isn't overwhelming unless the Pyro is worth his stuff. Degreaser + Axetinguisher is awfully crutchy. Full blown crits lets you kill any class in less than a second or two with little to no aim/effort, without crippling the Pyro's mid range combat ability. High reward with practically no downside. Not exactly fair. Take this from me, I used to use the Degreaser+Axetinguisher. Shit's easy. So easy in fact, that I lost all interest in playing that way. It got horrendously boring and stale.

I usually have either Backburner or Default Flamethrower equipped when I have the Axtinguisher with me.

It sometimes stops them completely and they fall to their clumsy and painful deaths. I used the Degreaser + Flare gun + Axtinguisher loadout till I went back to vanilla for shits and giggles and realized how a total lamer I was.

Stock Flamethrower, Detonator, Homewrecker. Bam, perfect Pybro. the Flamethrower has better afterburn than the Degreaser, so you can be sure that the Spies will be dead while you tend to the sappers. The Detonator is handy for delaying pushes/laying down some cover fire. The fact that it mini-crits is nice too. And of course, the Homewrecker removes sappers.

I just played on Nucleus using [flames incoming] the Pomson, people are fucking stupid. I one shotted I don't know how many people because they backpedaled. Yes smart one, yell at me because you rushed at me or backpedaled.

So I have woon very few raffles in my time on TF2R, my friend just won THREE today and has been on barely half as long as I have. he got my favorite paint, a hat, and a misc (he doesn't remember them specifically, he got a freaking genuine anger from the warehouse. What I wouldn't give just to get one back because of that stupid trade) all in one day NOT TO MENTION the decal tool he got for freaking staying on the raffle the whole time.

FUCK. SENTRY. GUNS. They are the cheapest and most bullshit weapon in the game. They do way too much damage, are too hard to kill, and aim too well. They were only added so that people who have zero aiming skills could get some frags. And naturally, because of this, it speaks to a lot of players. On any server at any given time, there will be like 3 engies on both sides. Many like to build sentries RIGHT NEXT to eachother aswell (so the other engie can take care of your base. Afterall, you played engie so you don't have to do anything - not even reparing/spychecking). And don't get me started on CTF maps. One team (the worse) will usually have 3 or so engies who completely surrounds the intel with sentries (mad skills!!). Your team will "exploit" this by building their own fucking sentries in midfield/wherever. Brilliant!! [I]Achievement: Stalemate[/I] unlocked! So if you suck at aiming and don't feel like playing at all, roll engie!

maybe if you weren't such a busta you could just go demo and shoot grenades around corners also the fact that the pyro is pretty much useless without unlocks

Don't even get me started on demos.. But still, the point is, here is a weapon that does EVERYTHIGN for you. You can pretty much play just aswell while being afk as if you were active (ie banging on the damn thing with your wrench = "skill"). Top 5 Bullshit-weapons: 1. Sentry Guns 2. Sticky Bombs 3. The Bow 4. Dead Ringer 5. Phlog

The only time Engie really requires no skill or effort at all is if you're playing with idiots/bots. And even then that would mean it's easy for anyone.

Ok fine, let me rephrase that... You could do just as well as if you bought and trained a monkey to hold m1, and to occasionally rebuild at preknown hotspots. How well you can do playing as engie is based on how [B]shitty[/B] the [B]other team[/B] is, not how good you are. And since there are idiots on every server, getting free kills is a guarantee.

Kill the Engie first so he can't repair the sentry B. Spam Direct hit rockets and hope the engie can't rebuild fast enough And of course spamming M1 won't help against stickies. Also, you'd have to be pretty stupid to lose to a partially trained monkey in TF2. If you're playing against people who are stupid/bad/new to the game, and you're experienced more then likely you will end up steamrolling said player(s). Also, Engie isn't based on how incompetent the other team is. It's still very possible to do good as Engie against a team of competent players so long as your team is just as competent.
