That can be said for any Class really.
No. All other classes require some aiming, movement, reading your opponent, and fast reaction times (emphasized differently of course) to be able to perform well.
Basic engie strategy (building and maintaining a nest) really requires nothing of these. You even remove sappers (and spycheck) by the same way you repair, so there's no reason to stop swinging that wrench. And there's nothing to do against ubered people, bombs, or rockets anyway (except if you use the Short circuit ofc, but nobody uses it, it sucks).

Engie still requires this. You need somewhat decent reaction times, for spies, Sticky launcher Demomen, Demomen in general, Snipers, Soldiers, any Ubers, or big Team pushes. Does Engie require alot of effort when up against bad players? Not really. Does any class? More then likely not. Soldier doesn't need much aim because of splash damage. Pyro can easily W+M1 a bad player to death, Heavies can mow down even competent players, Demomen can place Sticky traps, or Sticky/grenade spam etc.
The sentry has many counters that the engie should be looking out for. your main job as an engie usually isn't to be playing offensively (unless you have the gunslinger) but to be playing defensively (as in watching for threats, like Enemy medic combos, soldiers Demomen) because you are one of the weakest classes health wise, and once that Demo/soldier/whatever just destroyed your sentry more likely then not, you're going to be next.

All of these require the same strategy. Crouch in your base, bang that wrench, hope that your sentry + other team members take care of the rest. There's nothing to react to. You're doing the same things regardless.
Except the sentry is immobile an predictable, you can hear it before seing it and it can't shoot you unless you are in it's plain sight and close enought.
The only time you have no chance againstit is when you are caught by surprise by it (meaning you weren't carefull considering it bips every seconds).
Seriously these thing are easy as hell to destroy as long as you are not blind and pay attention to the ambiant sounds.
When I play engineer I always try to move the sentry between pushes so that the ennemies never know exactly where to aim before seing the sentry, if you don't do that and if they aren't braindead you don't stand a chance.
So I used go to a server where on player in particular loves to micspam porn.
Among the list of participants in said stories are: The Smurfs; a zombie, a dog, a woman and her newborn child; another smurf story; and ben 10.
I never really minded them since there's a mute button, but one day someone asked for an Adventure Time porno, to which replied "Sure".
I have since left said sever and blacklisted it, also blocking said person. Recently I saw him again on a different server and he asked if anyone wanted to listen to some porn.

I...just...why? Why would somebody make that? Why?

Except Spamming your wrench against a sentry while a demo is shooting stickies at you will do nothing at all and only server to get you and the sentry killed the same time.
And if you're just spamming your wrench while a soldier is sniping at you with rockets and not your sentry you'll most likely die leaving him to just happily snipe at your stuff.
And spamming the wrench on your sentry while you know there's a spy around is one of the dumbest things you could ever do.
I...just...why? Why would somebody make that? Why?
Rule 34 I guess.
I don't understand all the hate towards Degreaser + Axetinguisher. To get the hit you typically have to ambush the enemy into a corner or up against the wall, and this only makes sense seeing how the Pyro is an ambush class.
Also I hate it when my uberbuddy decides to ignore me screaming "Spy!" into the microphone. I mean, I stopped healing you and I'm shooting needles everywhere, you think he would notice.
Oh wow, somebody really called sentries cheap.
You must've had a bad day with them.
some of the best micspam I've ever heard is when someone reads some fapfic or a story like "Latonya the Naughty Horse" in a deadpan Morgan Freeman voice.
it's funny as shit.

Soldier vs Pyro. Pyro has got a Medic, Soldeir does not. Pyro walks towards Soldier, Soldier shoots rockets, Pyro can deflect. Soldiers only possibility: Secondary (if he doesn't have a proper one then it's his fault). But due to the low damage output and the fact the Pyro has got a Medic, the Soldier can't kill the Pyro.
Pyro gets up close and the Soldier dies within seconds.

And how would you counter these scenarios?

Sheesh that's a lot of failed replays. It feels like so often, something great happens, but then I can't capture the moment because of some error that's completely out of my hands.
Better delete them. I'll just click the X there and

WHY.

Except for the situations Pyro can't airblast worth shit.
And how would you counter these scenarios?
In order:
Demo: Shoot the stickies around the sentry or try and go for the Demo while he's distracted.
Soldier/Sniper sniping at you/your stuff: Wrangler, but if he gets up close to you after destroying your sentry your only choice then is to try and shotgun him to death, but as I said, you're a weak class and will most likely loose to his rockets which is what is supposed to happen.
Spy: Just be aware of your surroundings and watch your back as he'll most likely try and pull a stab n sap while you are repairing your buildings, if he starts sapping your stuff, go for him first because if you try to unsap your buildings while he's still there he'll try and backstab you while your fixing your stuff, or just repeatedly spam his sappers (which will always win unless a teamamte comes to save you which is highly unlikely at times unless your stuff is set up at a chokepoint)
But these are really basic counter strategies,
I hate when it seems like every time I play tf2, I start out by ending up on the horribly loosing team, I'm talking about not making half-way to the first point on badwater bad.
Spies are pretty easy to deal with when you go full paranoia Engineer.
NONE CAN RESIST
TOTAL CONQUEST IS AT HAND

But the Pyro ambushed the Soldier in a situation where he could not escape or use the rocketlauncher. Sure the Soldier is horribly screwed, but the Pyro got to that position by pushing up and ambushing the soldier as he is suppose to to.

Long hallway, ambush? Wat?
Degreaser+Axtinguisher is, in my opinion, pure bulshit for the reason that you can switch weapons superfast without having a downside.

In a long Hallway the Soldier can just leave and not engage the Pyro, but knowing the Pyros location he can pick a better spot to fight him. Also, I can't count the times I've lost kills on spies because the afterburn didn't do enough damage.
FUCK. SENTRY. GUNS.
let me stop you their, as a master Engineer (I've Main Engineer since I've played TF2)
It's your and your teams fault that they dont know how to work together and defeat a sentry.
A Engie nest can be taken out easily by a Heavy and a medic. If there is more sentries a scout can distract while soldiers and Demos spam rockets and grenades. So it's not that sentries are hard to take down its knowing how to take them down is an advantage.
Regarding the Degreaser: It would be more logical to give it a big direct damage nerf, while buffing its afterburn. The whole point of the weapon is to just apply a DOT and/or air blast your opponent and then finish them off with the shotgun/axe, rather than w+m1. At the moment the regular flamer is useless.
And how would you counter these scenarios?
Demo: shoot the stickies, zap the stickies, shoot the Demo, move your buildings, or pray
Soldier: tank your sentry, shoot the Soldier, zap the Rockets, move your stuff, wrangle the sentry
Spy: hit em with the Pomson, hit em with your wrench, remove the sappers, alert your team to the spy's presence, etc.

Just like I said. You depend on the incompetence of the other team rather than your own skills.
You know, Spy COMPLETELY revolves around the incompetence of the enemy team.

I prefer the Stock Flamethrower for a Pybro loadout.
You can airblast stickies and rockets more efficiently than with the Backburner and any Spies you light up will most likely die while you deal with the sappers.

Shit, you mean people should be able to take out sentries really easily by themselves without coordinating their efforts with their TEAM in TEAM Fortress 2?
makes total sense bro
seriously sentries are meant to be hard to take out. They're not just for people who can't aim. Yeah they get kills for Engies but the Engineer is a very high-maintenance class who needs to manage a lot of things. And they're not as impervious as you make them sound, especially when the Engineer is defeated.
Hell, a single Soldier or Demoman can take it out themselves with ease if it's in the right (Wrong?) spot.
