My friend just won his fourth raffle today. And I somehow posted that in the mod thread first.
I know people have said this before, but I really hate Lucky Crits. I swear I was playing a game on Foundry and 3 times in a row I died because this Demo/Heavy got a lucky Crit on me. I also hate the servers where once the map time limit ends one team is randomly picked as the winner. On that same game, we just had to capture their final point to win the game and just as we were about to start capping it. "YOU FAILED! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
I really hate this Trader buys a ton of copies of popular game on sale A week later still has copies left they just look for people looking for the game, doesn't matter if the trade is a week old "2 COPIEZ FOR A BILL's HAT ADD ME!1" Fuck
Did you stick around to hear the story? It may have been the one I wrote. loosing: present participle of loose (Verb) Verb: Set free; release: "the hounds have been loosed". Untie; unfasten: "the ropes were loosed"
I'll recreate it when I remember and have time for the spelling nazis.
I swear the auto-balance picks me every god damn time on every god damn server I play on. Your team doing well? lol nope autobalance'd. Just destroyed an entire sentry nest for the enemy team? lol autobalance'd
I hate when it seems like every time I play tf2, I start out by ending up on the horribly loosing team, I'm talking about not making half-way to the first point on badwater bad.
And then bring the team to victory.
70% of the time, no, but when I'm the losing team I'm usually on the top of the scoreboard, and doing a lot to help complete game objectives. I'm the king of the losers!
I was doing a big crafting spree of all my spare weapons and when I was crafting the spare sydney sleepers I was half asleep and just crafted my Genuine Machina, and I highly doubt Steam support will do anything about it. I'm so sad right now ;_; [editline]21st March 2012[/editline] Thanks Bazkip for the Genuine Machina. If Steam Support gives me mine back I promise to give you it back. Bros4evah <3
In order: Demo: Shoot the stickies around the sentry or try and go for the Demo while he's distracted. Soldier/Sniper sniping at you/your stuff: Wrangler, but if he gets up close to you after destroying your sentry your only choice then is to try and shotgun him to death, but as I said, you're a weak class and will most likely loose to his rockets which is what is supposed to happen. Spy: Just be aware of your surroundings and watch your back as he'll most likely try and pull a stab n sap while you are repairing your buildings, if he starts sapping your stuff, go for him first because if you try to unsap your buildings while he's still there he'll try and backstab you while your fixing your stuff, or just repeatedly spam his sappers (which will always win unless a teamamte comes to save you which is highly unlikely at times unless your stuff is set up at a chokepoint) But these are really basic counter strategies,
None of which, of course, take a modicum of effort. Even the Wrangler removes the chance of having to expend effort, what with its prodigious aim-assist and all. The only aspect of the Engineer that takes real exertion is shotgun aim, which is a skill shared by four other classes.

Hey, those guys who are complaining about Engi being cheap and all that: PLAY ENGI FOR A DAY.
Hey, those guys who are complaining about Engi being cheap and all that: PLAY ENGI FOR A DAY.
I'm sorry, but I play TF2 to fight my boredom. Not enhance it.
Oh trust me, you won't be bored, you won't have time for that.
I'm sorry, but I play TF2 to fight my boredom. Not enhance it.
Are you calling engineer boring It's like you're pretending the engineer only has a melee and PDA.
snip failed
I'm sorry, but I play TF2 to fight my boredom. Not enhance it.
So do you play 24/7 2fort and turtle engie in the intel? Because that is boring. Playing engineer on a normal map? Fun as shit. Playing combat engie? Don't get me started, boy. If you think all engineer's do is sit and hit their sentry, you need to play more.
And even if you do sit beside your sentry, it can be ridiculously hard. I pulled off quite an amazing roundsaver once. I think it was on Badwater, last cap. BLU team was putting a lot of pressure on us, I think there were two minutes left or so. I tried playing Demoman but couldn't, and when I noticed we had no engies, I went one and built it down the ramp. 60 seconds of constant pressure on us, I had two ubers nearly destroy my sentry. We won the round though.
I went one and built it down the ramp. 60 seconds of constant pressure on us, I had two ubers nearly destroy my sentry.
Mad skills right here.
let me stop you their, as a master Engineer (I've Main Engineer since I've played TF2) It's your and your teams fault that they dont know how to work together and defeat a sentry. A Engie nest can be taken out easily by a Heavy and a medic. If there is more sentries a scout can distract while soldiers and Demos spam rockets and grenades. So it's not that sentries are hard to take down its knowing how to take them down is an advantage.
Haven't played for a few months or so, but a single Engy is somewhat simple to take care of if he's not defended. Having the enemy team around it or multiple Engies makes your strat moot. Especially with a Pyro or two blowing back projectiles and ubers. Sniper probably has the best chance at removing the Engy coupled with a Spy to follow-up sap, but there's the risk of a nearby Pyro running Homewrecker and resorting to whittling it down before mister mad texan returns.
I hate when you're just goofing around having fun and somebody comes in taking things way too seriously and tries to make you stop. Yes, Mr. Soldier, with your pocket Kritz medic, you are doing quite well, thanks for pointing it out to me. No, me and my "idiot medic" friend don't have as many points as you, smacking enemy heavies with our ubersaws and shooting at spastic scouts with our blutsaugers. We are quite aware. We still beat him though. Chained ubers and basically killed their entire defense, securing the final point. He refused to acknowledge that maybe we weren't completely incompetent though, just his surprise that our "shit team" won, then said "man I'm so great" (really) before leaving the game. Kinda rained on our parade a little.
I hate when you're just goofing around having fun and somebody comes in taking things way too seriously and tries to make you stop.
"I hate people who are better than me."
"I hate people who are better than me."
Not really.
I'm sorry, but I play TF2 to fight my boredom. Not enhance it.
Playing Engineer isn't just being a bot and whacking your sentry 24/7, you know. If you really play like this, you should throw in the goggles and get out.
"I hate people who are better than me."
Wait, I think I'm realizing this a bit late, but did you just pop into the thread all of a sudden, hate Sentries for being "cheap" and slur at someone who merely contributed to this thread and called Engineer an easymode boring class? Maybe it's your opinion, but you're kind of being a dick about it.
did you just pop into the thread all of a sudden, hate Sentries for being "cheap" and slur at someone who merely contributed to this thread and called Engineer an easymode boring class?
Bingo.
Gunslinger Engi is really fun. One of my favourite sub-classes.
