Eh, I don't understand anything of those drawings. :S
Eh, I don't understand anything of those drawings. :S
When other scouts shoot round corners at me, they can blow up my sentry without it noticing them, no matter where it is or where they shoot from. When I try to shoot round a corner at a sentry, it ALWAYS shoots missiles at me, even if it and me are in the EXACT same places as when mine got destroyed.
Yeah ok, I understand now. Hah yeah I kind of agree. It seems kind of random how far around a corner you can go before you get blown to pieces.
Rad, sentries are SUPPOSED to kill quickly. If they DIDN'T kill quickly, they wouldn't be SENTRIES.
Yeah sure, I can live with that. It's just the complete lack of effort the engie has to deliver that bugs me. That the sentry gun is just as efficient regardless of how skilled the engie is.

So a sentry placed in a bad spot by a bad engie that gets taken out in 20 seconds is "as efficient" as a sentry placed in a good spot with an engie that knows how to take care of it and keep it up? I... won't even say more, I don't even know at this point.

I thought this was clear.
[t]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/wrangbad.jpg[/t] just for Rad McCool
Oh my..
So, all that matters is moving your crosshair and pressing m1? Engi is about strategic placement of a dumb death trap. The effort is SETTING IT UP AND PREVENTING IT FROM BLOWING UP. Kills don't matter, what matters here is the TEAM doing well. Or just having fun in the goddamn game. Do you know than building are not affected by damage falloff? You can snipe them from anywhere with ANY class. 3 rockets from the other point of the map will mess up an exposed nest. And, of course, Scouts are meant to be grinded into a fine paste by sentries. Otherwise it'd be hell to defend.
Also the engie is the only class that does not spawn with all his weapons ready, you don't just come and put a lvl3 sentry where you want, you need time and metal to do so. If you meet a nest, that either mean you are in the ennemie base and it's kind or normal to find opposition, or the engie was smart enought to move his stuff during a push to help his teamates (meaning he doesn't just hit his stuff with the wench, he actually thinks and is aware of what is happening). How are sentries more cheap/powerfull than a well placed stickie trap that instantly kills you, does not beep every second and is invisible ? That's not even funny to read anymore.
How are sentries more cheap/powerfull than a well placed stickie trap that instantly kills you, does not beep every second and is invisible ? But knowing how you react when anything even slightly controversial is brought up, I think we might not go there?
Stickies are ridiculously overpowered in the right hands.
What's that got to do with anything..
"Hurr FaN is scrub weapon lrn 2 ply" Seriously, you use a weapon that's considered really annoying among most players, and YOU are the one complaining about Engineers. Kudos.
Stickies are ridiculously overpowered in the right hands.
when people say this, I propose them to roll booties/bootlegger with the stickylauncher for a while. it's literally the best way to learn and understand the gun's weaknesses.
Stickies are ridiculously overpowered in the right hands.
Anything is ridiculously OP in the right hands.
Do you know than building are not affected by damage falloff?
wow, is it bad if i never knew that? that will honestly make taking out sentries alot easier
Anything is ridiculously OP in the right hands.
Yeah. Even Razorback.
Lol razorbacks. Sometimes I stab them just to see if their paying attention. They're usually not.
And then Rad was Ban.
I hate how sometimes for the period of like a week or two, for no reason, I will do horribly at TF2. No idea why. Doing great for like 2 months straight then BAM I suck.
[t]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/wrangbad.jpg[/t] just for Rad McCool
I find it funny how there's a dead Sniper in there.
Hey, look at that, I complain about his shitposting and sure enough, I come back to him being banned! Good job mods. Oh hey, Wranglers annoy me quite a bit too, although I'll admit I'm not particularly skilled at using them. I should practice one of these days.
Swebonny, you have our gratitude.
I remember when the Engineer update rolled out and I went to play Thunder Mountain with excitement. At the end of the RED side's ramp at Stage 1, there was a wrangler'd Lvl 3 Sentry that we couldn't even scratch because of the distance the Engie was sniping us from, and his team in the middle, killing spies and taking names. I never have been so frustrated on Thunder Mountain.
Anything is ridiculously OP in the right hands.
I'm on the control point, hyaaaa!!!
Pomson 6000, Wrangler, Eureka Effect. Holy shit, this is such a fun loadout. Pick a nice spot for your sentry, not out in the open, but not hidden away. Sammich yourself between the sentry and a dispenser, then pick off anyone foolhardy enough to try and take it out from a distance. I used it in a Lotus Clan Server the other day. none of them had mics, but I KNEW I was getting to them. Right around the time that the Soldier pulled the same shit tactic again and again, completely undeterred by my Wrangler popping him like a zit. oh, and I hate how, when you're an Engie, sappers destroy your shit in a milisecond, but as a Spy, it takes around a minute.
I don't know why, but I can't stand to play regular engie, also there's always already another one doing the job for me. I haven't unequipped my gunslinger in a long time.
