< Default hat.
Halo on all classes master race.
Mutton chop master race.
So there was a time I was playing Heavy and I was busy mowing down BLU on Upward with Medic when suddenly...wild Pyro appears outta nowhere! I took him down before I got smoked but my Medic is at low health...no health kits, no jarete or mad milk thrown, and no other Medics around. Luckily I had my Sandvich so I tossed it near Medic, then a fucking Scout with 80% health zipped by and stole the Sandvich before docktor could get it. My healing buddy died due to afterburn and the RED Scout typed in: "=e= Dumbass: ty heavy"

Medics are very resistant to healing scouts, so we don't expect to get healed. And we have a tiny health pool and are constantly in close combat. If you are wounded as a scout, you just grab any health you get over without asking questions. There's no time for that. The only times I actually let someone else grab a medkit is if that someone is on fire and about to die.

But no, it's always like: "MEDIC! MEDIC!" *running away from the Medic*
The only times I actually let someone else grab a medkit is if that someone is on fire and about to die.
You mean like that Medic?

OR JUST STOP JUMPING IN FRONT OF ME AND LET ME HEAL YOU.
I always say thanks over the mic if I'm healed as Scout, Sniper, Spy or Engi. Because Medics are excruciatingly stressing to play, and deserve recognition for doing more things that blind pocketing of heavy classes.
-when playing as a Scout who's low on health, feel free to take healthkits from more important classes like Medic-
HERE WE GO AGAIN... :v:
You mean like that Medic?
Wait, can't he just taunt? Or does that only work with the Kritz?
Wait, can't he just taunt? Or does that only work with the Kritz?
It's only the Kritz and it's only 10 health.
you should NEVER take Medkit over any other class.
So how am I supposed to get health? [editline]24th March 2012[/editline]
It's only the Kritz and it's only 10 health.
It allows you to, combined with the natural Medic regen rate, outlive fire.
So how am I supposed to get health?
you could... walk to another health kit? or go find a Medic? or a dispenser? or a resupply cabinet? honestly, it's not that hard to let a burning Medic (or any other class that's on the brink of death for that matter) grab a health kit while you run (Scouts tend to do this quite well) to another source of health. a little common courtesy goes a long way, in both casual and competitive play. EDIT: heh, rhyme.
So how am I supposed to get health?
Backpedal? Run, run and.. uh, RUN. Fall back from the front lines, get some healthpack from a spot where the main action is currently not taking place. Or if it's outside the spawn, run into the spawn. Or take the mad Milk with you. Or the Candy Cane.
-Scout is a suicidal, hit-and-run class. You get in, do damage and get out or die. You get to base and restock if you manage to escape. Base may mean the Engi nest as well. You are supposed to hop back and forth the frontlines and die often, but kill and accomplish objectives more often. -Medics are supposed to be just behind the frontline, keeping it strong. A dead Scout is better than a dead Medic. -Get a Mad Milk if it bothers you that much. Trade weapon heckling or chokepoint bypassing/sentry distraction for health refill.
I'm amused how we have to explain the Scout who hates Engineers to a point where it's not funny anymore how he has to do his job.

Of course ideally the person who needs it the most would get every medkit, but as a scout you rarely have time for that. Gotta stay on the run you know. And no, a medic who's married to one heavy isn't necessarily more important than anyone else.
I'm amused how we have to explain the Scout who hates Engineers to a point where it's not funny anymore how he has to do his job.
I find it very depressing. The time being 0:43 am and watching the Pyro in a shellnut before rad's post doesn't really help it either.
So how am I supposed to get health? [editline]24th March 2012[/editline] It allows you to, combined with the natural Medic regen rate, outlive fire.
having played Kritz Medic and used this tactic, I can assure you, it does not. Afterburn does, at most, 6 damage per second. The Medic can self-heal up to 4 health per second. The Oktoberfest Taunt restores 10 health over the course of around 3 seconds. If you do the taunt with the Medieval Medic set equipped, you will be immune to the afterburn damage for the duration of the taunt. Once it stops restoring health, the afterburn will continue to eat away at your health. Unless of course you kept taunting, and even then you'd be stuck doing nothing but taunting for 10 seconds. To completely negate afterburn, you'd have to use Medieval Medic with the Kritz and begin taunting the second you're lit on fire. You'd then have to taunt for over 10 seconds, not stopping at all. This is hardly a valid tactic, so yes, fire is just as bad for Medics as it is for any other class, meaning that, if you see a Medic on fire, LET THEM HAVE THE HEALTH KIT.
I'm amused how we have to explain the Scout who hates Engineers to a point where it's not funny anymore how he has to do his job.
Curious im am how much Rad has played Tf2.
Curious im am how much Rad has played Tf2.
private profile, guess we'll never know for sure :v:
You have to be a moron to steal health kits from a medic or ammo packs from an engi on purpose. Doing the same thing to the enemy ones is a viable strategy, so that tells you why you shouldn't do that to your team. I freaking love BackDetonating Pyros jumping into enemy territory and draining their health and ammo kits, while setting them on fire and recovering fucktons of health per stolen healthkit.
Unless of course you kept taunting, and even then you'd be stuck doing nothing but taunting for 10 seconds.
I actually meant this. Not a valid tactic? Well it beats dying.
I actually meant this. Not a valid tactic? Well it beats dying.
10 seconds is more than enough time for running to the nearest healthpack, locker or dispenser in most maps. Knowing the map's layout and being the second fastest class helps a lot in that. If you just stood still and kept taunting to barely survive the afterburn, any class could easily pick you off with a shot or two. Not to forget that you're not healing anyone or gaining any übercharge.
