Scattergun Shortstop Minigun Rocket Launcher Grenade launcher Sticky Launcher Syringe Gun Enforcer Huntsman Sniper Rifle All primaries that can and will destroy an unaware pyro, and half of those respective classes can outrun or even backpedal just out of flamethrowers reach. Yes, it is the weakest primary weapon. A pyro has to make his way unoticed through all of that, and with shit mobility and shit weapons. If you die to a pyro you deserved it.
I played some rounds on 2fort with my gf as my personal medic just for the lulz. At the after the 12th ubercharge, the enemy team´s heavies, soldiers and pyros in general just kept turning around and running as fast as they could. Funny times =D People who complain about W+M1 are just butthurt people. Come on, are you complaining because a short range weapon killed you at short range because its user kept on firing it? Oh, i guess i have always misunderstood the meanning of "weapon". Should I ignite for 2 seconds, then pull out the shotgun, run into the highest place of the map, jump and do some 360º flip tricks before I shot you? Too bad, I kill you how I want if you allow me to kill you. That´s why I LOVE bodyshoting. Just for their rage. It´s better than trying to humillate them with my kukri, and I spend less time [editline]7th April 2012[/editline]
Holy shit. I joined a pub payload server and it started off fine. The server soon left until there were only 5 players, and the only other one on my team was a Spy. On the enemy team was a fucking pubstomper Pyro with Backburner + Flare Gun who really pissed me off. He spawncamped and didn't even attempt to help his team, playing the same class/loadout over and over.
He helped his team killing you in your respawn. See?
lifestory about gf on tf2
I remember when I used to play TF2 with my gf, Heavy Medic combo, all the rage and butthurt was so much fun to watch.

Shit mobility depends on what loadout you use, I prefer using the detonator because of its "flare jumping". If you can't ambush as a pyro you probably aren't fighting on "Home turf". When I play ambush pyro I usually wait in places of medium player traffic or pybro an engineer. And if all those primaries could inflict afterburn I would probably consider the flamethrower one of the weakest primaries.
That there is no means of play for Pyro which is not considered a crutch in some way. No, seriously, go back and read the last few pages. Using only the flamethrower is a crutch, non-Backburner flamethrowers are airblast crutches, the Backburner is a damage crutch, combining primary fire with secondary or melee is a crutch, non-vanilla-shotgun secondaries are crutches, if the shotgun is the only viable secondary for Pyro then it becomes by definition a crutch for him, ambushing is a crutch, walking forward while firing is a crutch. Build me a Pyro which does none of these.

People who abuse me for my Unusuals. So what if its not a god-tier something-rather with scorching/burning/beams. I like my Bubbles Raincatcher and Orbit fire Mountain cap and thats all that matters. Followed by 10 mins of abuse because they're cheap. I had no idea the purpose of hats was to please others, I clearly must be playing wrong.
People who cry like babies after getting killed by a pyro who knows what they're doing. If you get killed by a quick switch reserve shooter/axtinguisher, its your own fault, the pyro did everything right, its not overpowered or unfair, deal with it.
To be fair, the Pyro hardly needs to do anything right. All he has to do is look at you, spend 1 point of ammo on lighting you, airblast you away, swap down and shoot. Any idiot can master that, and the fact that he gets crits on demand for such a simple task is ridiculous.
Soda Popper scouts that abuse it's power. I don't mind scouts that play normally and use their crits when they can, and sometimes not at all. But it's those scouts. They hide behind a wall once you start hurting them, just so they can spin around and build up hype. Basically this. Using the flamethrower is a "crutch" for people when they simply go around burning things, despite this being the Pyro's role. That one really isn't a crutch. The degreaser is considered a crutch for the same reason the flare gun is, for the crits-on-demand. Both of them have their own uses, but people tend to use them solely for the crits, making every kill ludicrously easy. I wouldn't say the detonator is a crutch, but then again I've never actually used it. It seems like an alright weapon, maybe even underpowered. No idea whether it can crit burning enemies or not. I'll agree with the community to some extent on the backburner. Why valve gave a weapon that has forced crits on directional damage more damage I have no idea. The sensible option would be to reduce his health by 25-50 points to encourage him to stay and hide. Any more than 50 would make him useless, though.
People who cry like babies after getting killed by a pyro who knows what they're doing. If you get killed by a quick switch reserve shooter/axtinguisher, its your own fault, the pyro did everything right, its not overpowered or unfair, deal with it.
Reserve Shooter I can respect. Requires aim and trades half of your mid-range firepower for a little extra push when in close quarters. Axetingusiher I cannot respect. There is almost to no tradeoff for using the Axetinguisher compared to the Fire Axe, unlike the Reserve Shooter compared to the Shotgun. I can't really blame myself for dying because I unsuspectingly ran into a Pyro who can kill me at full hp in half a second because he can almost instantly switch weapons. That is just circumstance, a dumb one at that. If he killed me because I stupidly ran into his range on purpose, yes, it would be my fault, but that is almost never the case. With other flamethrowers you are given at least a second to react after being set aflame. I used to be a Degreaser-Axetinguisher Pyro. It was piss-easy. Took almost no effort. No drawbacks whatsoever. I stopped using the Axetinguisher after I realized that it was just an overall lame way to feign skill. Saying that we shouldn't complain about Degreaser + Axetinguisher is saying like we shouldn't complain about Dr. Enforcicle. They're both annoying. We have a right to complain.
Degreaser+shotgun is my favourite. Deal 10-30 damage with a short flame to annoy their aim, toss them in the air then hit them with 2 shotgun shots for ~150 damage. Whether it's overpowered...the scattergun can do the same thing pretty much. Rocket launcher has far more dps. I think the main reason pyro's are so annoying is the airblast denys you near any chance of breaking out of it.
Pyro is pretty much my main class. I love how anything I do makes people mad. EVERYTHING IS A CRUTCH FOR BAD PLAYERS ON PYRO, PYRO IS A CRUTCH CLASS!
Lets see, I made a bunch of replays I wanna save an- [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578952670211499327/1B34B50A53197001FC7E3D31638928B98F50ADA1/[/t] YEA WELL FUCK YOU TOO, NOT LIKE i WANT TO WATCH ANY OF THEM
The Pyro is supposed to be god at close range and shit anywhere else. I just hope the FT rebuff goes live ASAP.
The Pyro is supposed to be god at close range and shit anywhere else. I just hope the FT rebuff goes live ASAP.
I can't agree with you enough, the more people who complain about the flamethrower the more annoyed I get.
Whenever there's a Degreaser/Flare Gun/Axtinguisher Pyro with a Medic and an Unusual running around being general assholes, I like to go Pyro with the default flamethrower, my Golden Gibus and Mr. Foster set, and piss them off by running straight towards them and airblasting them against a wall for 20 seconds. And then in my head I think, "SEE HOW IT FEELS?" And then I think

the only things that piss me off to no end enforcer+dead ringer tomislav
Seeing as this is Bitch About Pyro v5, I thought I'd share something I hate completely. Puff and sting. Like literally. It is utter bullshit. All a pyro has to do if they're a puff'n'sting type is get in close quarters, then you're pretty much dead. I just wish there was some way to nerf it. There is no reason for ANY CLASS to get a gimme-crit just because they managed to get close to another enemy. (with the exception of spy)
the only things that piss me off to no end tomislav
I just do not understand what the TF2 devs had in their heads when they added that. "Let's get rid of a MAJOR DOWNSIDE to a class! What could go wrong?"

I'm a fan of Pyro and I love playing as him, and I'm willing to admit that the Degreaser needs a nerf. It makes all of the combos that would normally be difficult to pull off for a high damage reward incredibly easy to perform. The Degreaser should downgrade all outgoing "reward" crits to the step below what the weapon normally gives. Axetinguisher would give Mini-Crits instead of full Crits, and the mini-crits of the Reserve Shooter would be nullified. Either play Combo Easy Mode for less of a reward or play Combo Hard Mode and get high-damage rewards.

Perhaps reflections could somehow be excluded from the downside since they aren't really affected by what flamethrower you're using. Still, I stand by the downside. Using the Degreaser is full-on easy mode when it comes to more difficult combos and it's pretty damn unacceptable. I understand that the Pyro is supposed to be an ambush class but the Axetinguisher+Degreaser combo is just too damn annoying and easy to use.
So basically for using one certain weapon every other weapon should lose it's positive advantage?
For using a weapon that makes combos easier, combo-based weapons should have lower rewards than for players that use the more difficult methods.
