Degreaser isn't the problem, Axetinguisher is the problem. Make the weapon switch SLIGHTLY longer (enough so that Degreaser is still an inprovement) or downgrade it to Mini-Crits, or make the base Damage less (so that Crits do less damage than full-crits, but more than Mini-Crits).

Does anyone really know how hard it is to use the Axet+Degr combo at anything mid to long range? You have to be IN FRICKEN MELEE RANGE, FRICKEN. MELEE. RANGE. Sure the degreasers got faster switch time, but that pretty much FORCES you to use a combo or you're just using a downgrade, DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND THIS? EH? Much mad is to be had in this thread. Another thing that makes me mad, when I'm doing a good job at my class but I'm pretty much forced to go medic or we won't even push out of spawn.
To be fair, the Pyro is tying with the medic for second-fastest class in the game. If you aren't in melee range of him then you sure as hell will be in a second or two.

MELEE. RANGE." There is zero effort put in to killing someone with the Degreaser and the Axe. You get behind someone, you light them on fire, press q and 7/9 times they're instantly dead. I'm not saying this as a butthurt victim, I'm saying it as a user of the combo. There's no time for the victim to even register what's happening to them until they see the killcam, and that's utter horseshit for them. Whenever I get a kill with the combo, usually the victim doesn't even have time to turn around and see me. The only class that should be allowed to do that is the Spy.
Seeing as this is Bitch About Pyro v5, I thought I'd share something I hate completely. Puff and sting. Like literally. It is utter bullshit. All a pyro has to do if they're a puff'n'sting type is get in close quarters, then you're pretty much dead. I just wish there was some way to nerf it. There is no reason for ANY CLASS to get a gimme-crit just because they managed to get close to another enemy. (with the exception of spy)
Sniping Like literally. It is utter bullshit. All a sniper has to do if they're a sniping type is get far away, then you're pretty much dead. I just wish there was some way to nerf it. It allows faster weapon switching at the sacrifice 25% afterburn. Anyone who claims the weapon is a "crutch" can't understand the fact that its only viable when used with the axetinguisher or the flare gun. Its just a fact that axetinguisher combos can still be done without the degreaser, but 65% faster weapon switch apparently makes a massive difference. The only thing you're going to get by nerfing the axetinguisher is more W+m1 or a flourish of flare snipers. Box warfare

All the pyro has to do to get into melee range is to surprise someone or simply be faster then them, which isn't as hard - in my opinion at least.
HAH The difference is that headshots with the sniper take at least SOME sort of skill.
Obviously it takes tons more skill to stand against walls and be useless for an entire match. Another thing that annoys me, when someone decides that we have too many snipers and then proceeds to sit in spawn whining about it to everyone else blaming them for all the failures of the match.

I'm one of those snipers that actually DOES THINGS. You know, that rare species of sniper that just actually goes out in the battlefield and is still REALLY FUCKING EFFICIENT? Yeah, no. Not all of us are useless.

Just saying that there are eight other classes that are extremely specialized in a few areas but snipers probably have the fewest. Low health and medium speed make them extremely easy targets, and almost all of their weapons have a high skill ceiling, totally great if you're good but so few people are. And usually the people who say they are good, are just better than the worst.

A good sniper hides and uses the surroundings to stay unnoticed, and taking down valuable targets, wich most people don't understand. He doesn't have to be far away, because then the targets are difficult, and he can't be too close, cause then the target's will notice him or he can't hit them. (Much more difficult to hit a moving target close to you than further away from you imo)

In all seriousness this is gone way to far, the weapon idea and strategy is fine just leave it be, the only way anyone deals with a weapon being too good at its job is by nerfing it, not by a rework, who needs a good idea when you can just get rid of the problem.

I mean I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, or like try to be a dick, but it just doesn't. I never play pyro like EVER, but when I do I'll occasionally try out puff and sting, and then I realize just how easy it really is. Oh, what's that? Your K:D is like 10/40? Don't worry, just go pyro. That'll even it up. Maybe it's just me, but I think puff and sting takes absolutely no skill.

But kill/death ratio of all things is improved by being the class which is expected to sidle up to all the heavy hitters and crack them open like walnuts?
Dude have you played Puff and Sting pyro lately? It's really easy. Like unnaturally easy. A lot easier than any of the other classes. (Even heavy/soldier)
I think one of the reasons I don't really need to complain about the puff and sting style is .1) I play pyro a lot. 2) Whenever I play any other class I'm extremely cautious, I'll stop following someone if they walk up a slope or round a corner because I play spy often enough to know when someones baiting me and because I'll have better chances of winning if they follow me. And its actually pretty easy to counter a puff and sting pyro, step one identify a puff and sting pyro, step two stay away from pyro, step three kill pyro with your superior range and intellect.

Soldier is an easy class to start with but extremly difficult to master: these days I started to use the Direct Hit and I found it really useful in the right hands. I'm trying to reach the ''next level'', with the Direct Hit you have actually to aim, it looks like the Rocket Launcher has an abnormous splash damage range. You can spam rockets all the day long and get actually tons of kills. Same, sorta, for the Loch 'n Load.
It annoys me that I am slightly better than all pubs, and when I (Don't really, but sometimes) get a challenge is when I play ETF2L. Are there any european servers that isn't FPUK?
Is this SPUF?
Is this SPUF?
Yeah didn't you hear? SPUF merged with Facepunch.

With the Dead Ringer pulled out, you don't have to think: after the backstab you'd probably be spotted but who cares, you have a 90% damage reduction in your hands and tons of ''second chance'' to get the best pick for helping your teammates. With the Invisible Watch or the Clock 'n Dagger, you'd be instead spotted and killed when your enemies hear the loud scream, so you have to choose carefully which class will meet your knife in his back because you won't probably have a second chance.
[sarcasm] The pyro is an incredibly overpowered class at all levels. That is why most pub games are decided by which team has the most pyros (especially when pared with medics), due to their large DPS at all ranges and the ability to soak up large amounts of damage. This is also why they are restricted to one in 6v6 tourney matches, and when they are around they often get the majority of the medic's attention. [/sarcasm]

I never get killed by axtinguisher pyros unless I get caught off gaurd or if the pyro has better positioning, which in both cases can be prevented by checking the flanks every once in a while and taking the height advantage. People complaining about Phlog. Seriously, dude. Valve nerfed it to hell and you're complaining? If you get killed by it, it's ENTIRELY your fault.
