So 80ms is so laggy that they "can't play any other class because they lag too much"? What the actual fuck, man.

You consider that having 80-100 of ping is laggy ? Really? It's not even noticiable, that's 1/10 second.
Point: People with poor connections prefer spyplay.
You don't think laggy players are annoying? You know what's funny? That everyone here complains about facestabs, but when I complain about laggy players you think I'm satan. FYI: facestabs come from laggy players who can't play any other class because they lag too much. Here's a screenshot I just took: Coincidence? I think not...
You consider that having 80-100 of ping is laggy ? Really? It's not even noticiable, that's 1/10 second. I often have 70-90 of ping and never got any complain about it, you need to have at least 200 for people to notice a kind of lag without checking the scoreboard.
Point: People with poor connections prefer spyplay.
Why would they? From my own experience I can tell you that Spy is a pain in the arse to play with high ping.
Why would they? From my own experience I can tell you that Spy is a pain in the arse to play with high ping.
Because you can hide in the dark and take your time and not focus on aiming too much? High lag = you are a sitting duck and die easily out in the open - and it's hard to aim at enemy players. It's not a mystery...

The former. I don't know how I can be more clear?
Because you can hide in the dark and take your time and not focus on aiming too much?
Not every spy is a stereotypical CnD spy you know. Also, Ambassador. Besides if I play with high ping I do better as demo than spy anyway :v:
Not every spy is a stereotypical CnD spy you know. Also, Ambassador. Besides if I play with high ping I do better as demo than spy anyway :v:
Ok you win. Solid proof right here that facestabbing is not a connection-based issue. Good job.
Ok you win. Solid proof right here that facestabbing is not a connection-based issue. Good job.
Of course it is connection-based, never meant to imply it isn't in case it looked like I did. I won't get into how probably 70%+ of "facestabs" aren't true facestabs, because if we focus on the true facestabs then they indeed happen more frequently when the difference in latency increases. And then there's the fact that source melee uses collision hulls (aka very generous hitboxes) and the way they work, especially when lag is involved. Yes I am happily admitting that as a spy I enjoy abusing the silly melee hitboxes.
Ok you win. Solid proof right here that facestabbing is not a connection-based issue. Good job.
Facestabs are based on source hitboxes being stupid, lag just is a neat bonus to it. You can even facestab people at good pings sometimes.
Facestabs are based on source hitboxes being stupid, lag just is a neat bonus to it.
Yeah well ok? That doesn't change anything... just like this guy says:
if we focus on the true facestabs then they indeed happen more frequently when the difference in latency increases. And then there's the fact that source melee uses collision hulls (aka very generous hitboxes) and the way they work, especially when lag is involved.

Coincidence? I think not...
You really need to learn how to consider another side to an argument before you get yourself banned again.
Too late
Read his ban notes, so I dedicate this song to Rad McCool

I wear my Pencil Pusher.
This is a thing that has been annoying me endlessly for a long, long time, so I decided to write it out. Nobody ever attempts to be unique. Just think; have you ever seen anybody using the Cadaver's Cranium? I have not, and I doubt you have either. It's not a case of the quality of the item being bad; it is honestly pretty good-looking. It's not even an expensive or rare hat. But yet you never see anybody wearing it. Compare this to the Team Captain, or the Toque. I have seen endless amounts of people wearing them, using almost exactly the same miscs with them. People tend to wear the most expensive things they have, even if they themselves think that the items look bad. Have you ever seen anybody wearing the Pencil Pusher, Horrific Headsplitter or Dealer's Visor? I have never seen anybody ever using one. This is because they are considered "bad" hats by most of the community. If somebody crafts one, they'll most likely complain and recraft it, instead of wearing it, even though these items look good. Ever seen a Handyman's Handle in-game? I thought not. This is all from personal experience, though. I'm not saying that nobody uses these at all, I have just never seen somebody using one, ever. Another thing I noticed is that when a hat gets updated in some way, you see everybody scrambling to get one. Just look at the Private Eye; Everybody thought it was fucking terrible, and hated it. All of a sudden, a wild Nine-Pipe Problem appears, and everybody's scrambling to get a Private Eye, gotta have the bad-looking hat to go with my new misc, just so I can have the set!
I used the Cadavers Cranium with the Big Steel Jaws of Summer Fun for a long time before finally switching to a Pilotka, Security Shades and Clan Pride which also looks pretty damn good IMO, but can only agree with you. With so many good looking items to chose from, it's sort of sad seeing them being thrown into oblivion to only be seen on the occasional player...
Ever seen a Handyman's Handle in-game?
Yes. With green plasma.
This is a thing that has been annoying me endlessly for a long, long time, so I decided to write it out. Nobody ever attempts to be unique.
I could give two lickity shits about what everyone thinks, I wear what I think looks good. My hats are for my gratification, not anyone else's. Mining Light and Gatsby represent. I agree on the Private Eye business though. I bet nobody even uses the set anymore, because after getting a Private Eye for it, they realized that wearing a pipe with the hat doesn't make the hat any less ugly. In which they proceed to re-equip their Team Captain.

I tend to swap my hats around to ones i wear less on occasion, too. Hell, on my Demoman i wear my Sultan's Ceremonial with my Snapped Pupil because of the fact i like how it looks, fitting be damned.

Like the Pyromancer+Deus Specs combo, or Beak+TC.
i'm a fucking whore for shit other people hate.
This explains a lot.
Fucking crit stickies.
Fucking crit stickies.
Fucking ANY stickies.
Fucking crit stickies.

I fucking HATE crit stickies. Fired and ready to detonate in .6 of a second and deals roughly 180-353 damage (that's from about 6ft away to right on top of).
I know your pain.
Seriously, i just played in a server where there was a stickyspammer with his pocket-kritzkrieg. They killed me like 6 times, but we still won. It was annoying none the less.

In fact, besides the Glengarry, it is my favorite Demoman hat. It just fits Demoman so much, and it is so well modeled and all around a good looking hat. I suppose it's the: "It's not the most valuable Demoman hat, and therefore it isn't a good hat" rule. Stand aside V. Hallmark, you aren't that great. Scotch Bonnet is where it's at.
Scotch bonnet is demo's most fitting hat. Period.
Point: People with poor connections prefer spyplay.
Actually, I've seen more people play sniper with high ping. Oh man he got banned again, but he'll be back. I don't see many people wearing the classic hats, so its a hobby of mine to collect vintages.
