I love sniping with the Flare Gun. Hard, but extremely rewarding (especially with successive hits on a single target) and effective. It's handy to scare off enemy Snipers as they run for health (unless they just put the fire out with Jarate right away of course) and clear a more open area for your team.

I just love to see them do that, AND HIT THEM AGAIN. Double fun if they have the Bushwacka and with 2 flares are already dying.

I used to be so good at that. Then I played demo and learned how to lead. Now I can't play with my flare gun because I got out of practice.
Does anybody else get that? How your aim deteriorates because you spend too much time playing with a different weapon that requires that you aim in a different way?

I swear as Medic on a competent server all the forces in the universe want you dead.
Also I'm scared of melee fights with Spies, even if they don't get behind me.
I do that with the ScoRes, am I a bad person?
I do, too.
fun times until you find yourself against a pyro.
For anybody that does like the Gatsby, paint it Labcoat or Overalls.
It's amazing.

Isn't that kind of the point? I mean your teammates should protect you.

Medic is without a doubt the most important member of the team. That's why.

Oh, you're just teasing me now.
This is a thing that has been annoying me endlessly for a long, long time, so I decided to write it out.
Nobody ever attempts to be unique.
Just think; have you ever seen anybody using the Cadaver's Cranium? I have not, and I doubt you have either. It's not a case of the quality of the item being bad; it is honestly pretty good-looking. It's not even an expensive or rare hat. But yet you never see anybody wearing it.
Compare this to the Team Captain, or the Toque. I have seen endless amounts of people wearing them, using almost exactly the same miscs with them. People tend to wear the most expensive things they have, even if they themselves think that the items look bad.
Have you ever seen anybody wearing the Pencil Pusher, Horrific Headsplitter or Dealer's Visor? I have never seen anybody ever using one. This is because they are considered "bad" hats by most of the community. If somebody crafts one, they'll most likely complain and recraft it, instead of wearing it, even though these items look good. Ever seen a Handyman's Handle in-game? I thought not.
This is all from personal experience, though. I'm not saying that nobody uses these at all, I have just never seen somebody using one, ever.
Another thing I noticed is that when a hat gets updated in some way, you see everybody scrambling to get one. Just look at the Private Eye; Everybody thought it was fucking terrible, and hated it. All of a sudden, a wild Nine-Pipe Problem appears, and everybody's scrambling to get a Private Eye, gotta have the bad-looking hat to go with my new misc, just so I can have the set!
Lots of agreement here: for example, I equip the Pyromancer's Mask with the tie and the speks and bam, you have a perfect officer pyromancer.
Or let's just talk 'bout the Duty Ra: everyone thought that it was fucking horrible but after the All-Father is relased, everyone said it's one of the best heavy hats because, I have to admit, it goes pretty well with the beard.
Meh, rag + beard is overused. Gold rag + deus specs + purity fist actually looks pretty good.
Isn't that kind of the point? I mean your teammates should protect you.
With "forces of the universe" I was more referring to the point that everything that can go wrong will go wrong and what can't go wrong will go wrong anyway. Facestabs, random airblasted projectiles not meant for you, connection loss, the universe will find SOMETHING to screw you over.
Playing medic on any server with random crits makes you realize medic is a crit magnet.

Look at the first comment. I explain mostly why Team Fortress 2 is an infinitely superior game to Call of Duty. This one single fanboy annoyed me to no end.

I don't wanna seem like Rad,
But cmon now. Moments after this screenshot was taken, another Engineer started building a third sentry right beside these.

Random crits depend on damage done in lasts 20 seconds, so better players get more crits.
And better players tend to kill medics first.
Only if you equip the Persian Persuader as well.
I think the Persian Persuader would work fairly well with the ScoRes, because of it's larger amount of reserve ammo.

This is understandable to hate, since these engies aren't contributing much. The ones rad hated were actually protecting the intel/cap.

There's certainly a difference between hating useless Engineers and considering all Engineers to be useless and telling them to play a weel class.
I have been holding this rant in for a while.
Why is it a justification to make one item UNFUCKING OBTAINABLE through normal trading, JUST because it was in a crate that drops with the same rate as uncrating an unusual? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?! I get it, supply and demand I get it! but it fucking drives me nuts, the item I want does the exact SAME FUCKING THING! as the rest of the stranges! they all do just
urgh!
this has been brewing for the past few days.
[sp] I guess I just gotta wait and hope for valve to put the srange gunslinger in a new crate [/sp]
You are making me feel bad for wasting what I've saved up to get a new game in keys, to get one before crate 30 stopped dropping. Oh well, 15 € can be easily saved up by smart grocering.
I have a few things:
1. The fact that they got rid of the in game trading interface. Steam trading is broke as hell and on the rare occasion that it does work its unwieldy and ugly.
2. The Japan Hats not being obtainable again. I guess this isn't really a super valid complaint, I'm just pissed they didn't leave them in the store. I would have gladly bought one if I had any money at the time, and I would love to buy one now, but I can't. And that makes me a saaad fossil.
3. There isn't enough Mann Mint paint in my backpack. I need more.
Agreed. I wanna slap the guy that told Valve that getting rid of a completely working in-game Trading System for the brokeness of the Steam Beta Trade (hell, I can't even trade when I'm playing) was a good idea.
Random crits depend on damage done in lasts 20 seconds, so better players get more crits.

Even if taking the ramped up crit rate into consideration the amount of crit rockets and crit stickies that find their way to my feet whenever I play medic and random crits are enabled baffles me.
Crits seem to in general happen when they help the one doing the crit the most. Run up to a soldier as scout, hit him once - 98 damage. Another shot, 98 more damage. BAM, crocket and he even survives.
And I am totally aware that they are random and that it's just me remembering those well-timed crits better than those that happen when the same soldier rocket jumps or so, but still kind of hilarious / annoying at times :v:
For anybody that does like the Gatsby, paint it Labcoat or Overalls.

I'd like the Gatsby a lot more if they would make the bill more noticable.
It's just this tiny, nigh-invisible fold in the very front of the hat.
They fixed the Whiskered Gentleman, why not fix the Gatsby?
Agreed. I wanna slap the guy that told Valve that getting rid of a completely working in-game Trading System for the brokeness of the Steam Beta Trade (hell, I can't even trade when I'm playing) was a good idea.
Oh god I know right? The absolute worst loss from that, more than the constant crashes, is the missing "X is typing a message" feature. I never know if anybody is typing anything or if they've tabbed out of the trade or what.
For anybody that does like the Gatsby, paint it Labcoat or Overalls.

Why didn't I ever think about painting mine?

You expect people to be smart on 9gag? Really? It's worse than reddit, and that's saying something.
The fact that instead of making new counters on already existing weapons, they're making us use Strange Parts to count things.
Some parts, such as buildings destroyed, airborn enemies killed, or # of [class] killed are unnecessary and therefore should be only available as an optional attachable part. However, reflects and headshots seem like something that should be tacked on without the use of a part, as they are core functions of the weapons that can use those abilities, much like how the Wrenches also count sentry kills.
Just anything to get more key sales.
Whenever I play engineer, there always happens to be a pro-spy on the other team who saps my shit instantaneously and backstabs me. I've had little practice as Engie, and that ain't helping.
