Also, on topic, yeah the Mann-conomy update completely fucked up TF2. I quit the game for a while, came back to it recently, and every server I join is full of trading whores and elitists showing off their unusual hats and max heads and shit. I also hear a lot of "LOL I TRADED RAZORBACK FOR A LUMBRICUS LID IM SO PRO AT TRADING xDxDD" and it is really fucking annoying. Also, with the Mann Co. store, it costs MUCH more than the game itself to buy absolutely everything in the store, which sucks. I only play the game because it's fun, the reason the mann-conomy update made shit worse was because of the addition of unusuals, vintage items, polycount set bonuses, tradable keys, crates, and pretty much everything that was added. I still like the game, for sure, but adding all that stuff totally wasn't necessary, the game was great the way it was.
If you don;t like trading and the store, Don't concentrate on it. Focus of the game and ignore the text.

The game itself hasn't changed, only the ways to get item unlocks have increased.
Think about it, you've got achievements for all the main class packs(I bet they'll do achievements for the polycount packs soon), you've got the item system dropping items randomly, crafting, trading items for items you need and the store.
Basically what everyone is moaning about is the "meta-game", which are the hats/vintage weapons. I bet you come the next big update, they'll be ways to get all the items currently only gainable from drops or crafting or trading.
