Valve just got a little shitty in my books
I would hate you but then you mentioned derpheaded kids.
They were crying to me over the mic in high pitched voices about sentry spam, then I told them I had hats. Now they dont have accounts :smug:
VALVe, You funny.
You've made me stay up for 50 more minutes reading everything in this thread. You better get it back you fuck. [editline]18th October 2010[/editline] Love you.
I would hate you but then you mentioned derpheaded kids.
So it's ok for them to lose their accounts and for nothing but lies, but not the OP of this thread?
So it's ok for them to lose their accounts and for nothing but lies, but not the OP of this thread?
Its to prove a point really, showing Valve that they have the proper stance against cheating reports but their stance on scamming items in a game is completely wrong.
thats kind of shitty that even if your account is worth like 2 grand that they'd just disable it for a minor infraction inside of a game worth 20 bucks (which in my opinion isn't even worth the money) whats next a monthly fee to play TF2?
So it's ok for them to lose their accounts and for nothing but lies, but not the OP of this thread?
Have to agree with you, i wasn't too serious saying that. Just shows how easy it is to get someone banned :\
Its to prove a point really, showing Valve that they have the proper stance against cheating reports but their stance on scamming items in a game is completely wrong.
That's a fucking stupid way to prove a point, because if they were really children like you claim they were, I doubt they would figure out to contact Steam support or be able to contact Steam support with enough info other than whining about being disabled. [editline]18th October 2010[/editline] And how exactly is getting two random children banned for nothing "proving a point", exactly? It doesn't prove anything other than you're a massive asshole.

2 children that did nothing but cry because you were exploiting should be banned from Steam and lose all their games for nothing but wanting to see them out of that 1 server? Kind of pathetic if you ask me, Valve added a mute option for a reason, no need to be a gigantic faggot.
"we can disable your account for any reason" doesn't hold up in court.
I actually got banned from another forum arguing about something like this (except with Starcraft II). According to what I've read, more often than not a ToS or EULA is considered legally binding. Most people appear to have a problem with this because they "don't get to see it before they buy the game", which I'll agree is pretty bogus unless the devs have a copy on their website, in which case if you cared that much you could always look it up before-hand. They argued that you get to see contracts before you settle in things like credit card applications, mortgages, car sales, etc. True, but imagine how obnoxious it would be if you had to sign a contract before they would even sell you a game. And imagine the paper-work nightmare that would result from a contract being signed for every new game purchased? Though granted, I think it's bogus that a company CAN terminate your ability to play a game at any time and without any reason when you paid for it in full. Games that require a subscription to keep going (like WoW or other such games where you pay by the month/year) are more understandable in this case, but last I checked TF2 isn't such a game, and so it's rather retarded that they'd disallow you to play ANY game on your Steam Account.

Why is it possible for you to lose real money for virtual arguments?
Pathetic? More like the most awesome abuse of the system in the history of steam.
And abusing said system because you don't like something is pathetic and makes you more of a child than the children.
"we can disable your account for any reason" doesn't hold up in court.
It does when you agree to it, and you automatically agree to it upon using Steam at all.
Valve is acting more and more like Activision. It leaves me scared and depressed.
Suddenly, the unthinkable happened to steams community. They tore each other apart, reporting each other until no one was able to play team fortress 2 anymore... ...no one except from the console gamers...
Valve is acting more and more like Activision. It leaves me scared and depressed.
It's funny because you have the same avatar as Chirno.
And abusing said system because you don't like something is pathetic and makes you more of a child than the children.
Makes me more of a man. If Valve didnt want me doing this then they wouldnt have made a system as shitty as this. Same thing goes for exploits, if they didnt want me to do something they wouldnt include it with the game.
I think Valve had the idea of the Economy to be a little more like this. Weapon for a weapon. Hat for a hat. (including hatless) 2 hats for a polycount Hat. 3 hats for an unusual hat. But people have gone off the deep end.

I can contact BurtonJ about this if you wish. PM me your account name.

So guys my offer still stands. Anyone want a free hat? I think this is one big misunderstanding. You WILL get your account back. Trust me.
I hope so. Minecraft doesn't have as much replayability as I thought ;(
