I'm sorry dude, hopefully you'll get your account back in a few days if they're understanding.
Valve and their damn priorites in banning...

I hope you'll get your account back mate.
Maybe they'll enable it and give me Left 4 Dead 2 for my troubles, too!
... :smith:
You just need to focus on getting you account back and counting your blessings bro.
I sent in a ticket, not sure if there's much else I can do.
As for my blessings, they're pretty well tallied.
rant time on spuf
(for me)
Link me, I want to agree fervently ;(
VALVe seriously has to change their ways, because this is just report abuse, you didn't scam, he agreed to it.
What the hell is valve thinking, this isn't the solution to this kind of stuff.
They disabled my steam forums account, too, after I posted in the GMG hat raffles thread about it.
Are you serious? What the fuck?
This remids me of Activision and Blizzard way too much...
As everyone else has said, this is rediculous and retarded. Jesus, Valve, I don't wanna feel scared to play the games I buy.
Yep, when you add real money into the equation I guess it gets serious to valve
You can't trade bought items yet, so this isn't true.
I'm starting to loose my respect for VALVe.
Good luck with getting it back, thats why I avoid doing these raffle things, you'll always end up with some idiot abusing a report button because he didn't win or something.
200+ games...
Damn, I feel really bad.
I traded 1 scrap, one targe, engineer shotgun, and something else that was another weapon for a nametag. Worth it, but now I'm slightly paranoid.
1 (Dupe) Sandman for a Nametag.
More than worth it.
And 2 refined metal for a Heavy helmet. Also more than worth it.
Not worried at all.
Create another account on SPUF then. This is fucking outrageous.
Boohoo I was stupid enough to trust somebody with my items report wtf dude give bhack items
The guy who gave the Fez was named Scribble, in case you want to perform voodoo rituals on him. Check the account Cogniscente (sf: Orden)'s friends list.
As everyone else has said, this is rediculous and retarded. Jesus, Valve, I don't wanna feel scared to play the games I buy.

yet
excuse me sir ur gonna have to give those items back that that man legitimately agreed to give to you
"but officer"
ur band
Anyway, that's pretty fucking stupid. I think they should ban anybody that wastes their time with stupid shit like this. If he was dumb enough to trade a hat away for free, then it's 100% his fault if he gets scammed.
Create another account on SPUF then. This is fucking outrageous.
It says it needs to be approved by a moderator
Thats totally retarded.
This makes me paranoid to trade and instead just craft my items.
We all have seen them ingame, the guys that just sit there, waiting for people to be gullible enough to, say, trade away a hat to be painted, or a crate to be opened. At first they're all cheery and nice, willing to paint your hat or open your crate, but after a few minutes its clear, they aren't giving your stuff back.
So what do you do? Do you become enraged and DEMAND your stuff back? No, he already left the game, thats no use. You decide to send in a Steam Support ticket, and after a few days, you receive a reply. Your account has had the items stolen return but, whats this? The Scammer has had his account disabled? A few things might run through your mind, the first being "Wow, he should have never scammed me! Jokes on him! Hah!" but lets take a closer look at VALVe's Anti-Scammer Policy.
Part One: The Premise
VALVe's whole philosophy regarding scammers is a simple, no tolerance policy. You scam someone, you get your account disabled. While there are literally hundreds of different, more effective methods of achieving the same result, they go the extremist route of disabling the steam accounts of people who scam. All it takes is one Steam Support Ticket and whoever you please suddenly is at a loss of an account. Wondorful.
Part Two: The Flaws
Whenever you make a trade, VALVe keeps a copy, a receipt of that trade if you will, for whatever purpose they deem important enough. They keep a copy of the chat, a copy of the items received, a copy of every thing that goes on in that very chat window. They do this as an Anti-Scammer mechanism, as a way to validate real scammers and to deter people whom wish to abuse the report button. But, it does not go through an automated system to determine who got scammed, who is scamming or who is abusing the report button. It goes through a real, living breathing person. Some of you may be thinking "Gee! This means I can freely express my side to this guy, and he will agree!" But what if you're not the most charismatic person around? What if Enlgish isn't your native language? What if the situation was in a context that you can't explain to VALVe? Well, these are all good questions! The real answer here is "Too bad". VALVe is not an omnipotent being, it consists of real human beings who both sympathise and will automatically side with the person who presents their case with the most charisma and authority. If you don't have those two qualities, the case is theirs and your account is gone.
Part 2.1 Examples
There was a man who frequents another forum I goto, his name was Xolo. He was being a nice person, and raffling off hats- FIVE OF HIS HATS- to people in his Hat Raffling Steam group. It came to the point where he ran out of hats, but people wanted more raffles. And so, he turned to his loyal friends. One of them offered a Familiar Fez to him in return for a split percentage of the metal that was given from the raffle. Well, Xolo became a very busy man, and was too busy to do raffles. He traded his hats to a close friend of his who wished to engage in raffling, he told the man who gave him the Fez "My friend is taking care of the Raffles now, he will raffle your hat on monday. You will receive a half of all of the metal earned from the raffle." But Fez giving man did not agree! He DEMANDED his hat back, he DEMANDED it, not becuase he wanted his hat back, but becuase he felt it violated their deal. Xolo felt otherwise, because he agree'd to the deals that they had set before themselves. And today, Xolo logged on and his account was disabled, all because of a very angry player, a biased VALVe Employee, and a situation that could not be explained easily.
Part 3: The Conclusion
What I'm trying to get at here is that the policy regarding scammers is redundant, brutish, and all around flawed. People who legitimately hack the game get a VAC ban while people whom make a really crazy trade get their account disabled? Thats a bad policy to uphold, because each day there are people who play TF2 in fear that that day could be their last, simply because they Traded a Natascha for a Hatless Engie. People AGREE'D to these trades, the only moderation that should be done on scammers are the ones who greedily take, and even then it should be an automated system because its proving prevalent that the manual check and ban system that is in policy now is both flawed and useless.
Change this VALVe, your players beg of you.
and now to get scrutinized for my 10 post count yeeah
So basically
"I want my hat back after we traded it."
"Op: No, a deals a deal.
"WHAT THE FUCK REPORTING"
So where are the people saying that this was a completely legitimate punishment previously?
band ofc
and now to get scrutinized for my 10 post count yeeah
I feel like a whore for supporting my own cause, but I agree

You sir, are awesome. Beautifully written. I hope Valve really does something about this problem.
