The mods give them them,
but I thought donating would automatically give you a purple name.
Say, is it nice having people in your family who also plays TF2?

Say, is it nice having people in your family who also plays TF2?
I tried to get my brother to play tf2, I explained the classes to him and stuff and the general idea of their weapons, but since tf2 does such a horrible job of explaining unlocks to newcomers each time something happened it was just like 'oh no he wasn't dead that was a dead ringer' 'how the fuck was I supposed to know that?' 'uhhh', 'oh no if the scout has that trail thing it means he's invincible for the moment' 'how the fuck was I supposed to know that?' 'uhhhhhh'.
He quit after getting stunned by a sandman because he didn't think that the scout's bat and ball were too much of a threat to him as heavy. I thought that was actually fair enough.
wow, why dont you have speakers
I cant use speakers due to the walls in this house is like damn thin, I USE to have speakers but those got donated to my job due to our boss was kind enough to give us a laptop so we can listen to our music...why didnt they give us a stereo is beyond me.
Anyway I found my headphones so I can play with sound again
You're a very sick person Zaddy.

Say, is it nice having people in your family who also plays TF2?
Yes it is, but recently, my nephew has found out about trading, and is thus beginning to amass as much stranges and hats as he can. My brother in compassion, never trades or crafts stuff, thus he has a full inventory with stuff like five Razorbacks. If he would craft all his dupes together, it will be over the two refined at least.

What if Valve made a little button that would appear on the bottom corner of the "You've found/traded for: X" item screen. When clicked on, it would play a short filmstrip showing the absolute basics of the weapon.
They could make it a community submitted thing like they did with the hat names.

That'd be neat, and the wiki already has an (almost) complete series.
Uhhhmmm...
The wiki is an external resource that apart from that one button in the catalog is not integrated in to the game at all.
Generally whenever a game defaults to 'read the wiki', it hasn't done the best job of explaining something.

Then why not simply have the button link to the appropriate wiki videos. There are plenty of F2P or new players that may not be initially or instantly aware of the wiki's existence.
The media and format can vary, but the idea remains true. The suggestion to make it a contest simply stems from the possibility of having quicker (10-15 seconds), simpler overviews based in TF2's settings, along with having some community involvement.

Fuck, why not have an optional link at the end of the video titled "learn more!" that would link to that weapons respected wiki page, or possibly the appropriate video on YouTube.
[editline]3rd October 2012[/editline]
Actually just replace TF2 with the wiki entirely, that'd solve most of the related issues TF2 has.

Dunno if this is the right place to ask, but what would a fireworks noise maker with 12 uses left be worth in metal?
