All the hype I had for this update kinda died down when the promos were revealed. I mean, they are good for the people that want them, but they don't add a substantial amount to the game nor will any Linux event that may happen.
We still don't know what the update will contain other than the promos.
This is just like when adult swim announced their new promos before the mecha update was announced and everyone soiled their pants crying that that's the only thing we're getting for christmas.
Why is everyone talking about the jag these days? Did I miss something?
Oh man, you're missing out

Someone has to tell you
There was a guy, before the halloween update, if i´m not wrong, was telling us to get strange jags for unknown reasons
We did
Nothing happened
It seems to me some of the animators are setting up their own company or something seeing as a lot have left. Might be a case of they were fired because they were working on this and not valve projects, suggesting to me that if they were working on something it wasn't videogames.

Wasn't there talk a while back about a fifteen minute SFM video for TF2? Does this mean that it's done?

But jag whacking happened.
"jag" is swedish for "I"
two exclusive Team Fortress 2 items, Eddie Riggs’ hair and his guitar Clementine, all the better to spread the word of Metal throughout the virtual land.
From the doublefine blog
Seems the taunt is going to have a guitar featured in it.
This one

Wrong. Anyone who bought a strange Jag at that time did gain something from it
[sp]A Strange Jag, of course[/sp]
[sp]And a Max's Head[/sp]
I am tempted to buy, but don't think I'll enjoy the game, so I won't buy just for the promos I guess.
Unless of course they end up being worth more than the game, but I see that being unlikely.

It's from doublefine.

Didn't EA publish brutal legend though? Do they not get the money if I buy it through steam?

They published the console version
DoubleFine have published the steam version
s'why it has promos.
I really loved the game when it hit consoles but sold it when I hit some financial problems whilst at University.
The idea that it's finally coming to PC (with the possibility of mods and free TF2 items) is really exciting.
DF realized there was nothing in their contract with EA or the music companies that said they couldn't self publish a PC version. They hired a new lawyer and he's finding them all these loopholes to get their IPs back.
TF2 really gotta step its game up and come out with them Valentines "gifts",
hell even Runescape have begun with tha Valentines!

I find it scandalous that people have to get THAT far just to get their own IP back
But I guess I don't know that much

Nope, all projects are still ongoing, according to Gabe, where's dat link?

Sweet. I've always wanted to try Brütal Legend, but I never had an X-Box. Here's hoping the PC release gives it the second chance it deserves.
Guys, I have cracked the case about the Jag:

The new update will include a Mechanic Cheetah who'll get VAC banned in the end for shoving it's dick in a delorean without lube.
Calling it.
A rocket cheetah!

Out of curiosity, was there any news about Linux getting a promo, similar to how Mac did?
It's said the promo will see the light today or tomorrow, I kind of forgot, but no one knows yet what silly item it will happen to be.
There will be a 'Tux' item for everyone who plays TF2 on Linux, yes. Starting tonight, I believe.
Max permabans testinglol.
Valve fires SFM team working on the megaepic TF2 short we've been waiting for since forever.
It's obvious.

It has got:
1. An incredible soundtrack.
2. A memorable story filled with Double Fine humour.
3. Varied gameplay mechanics.
4. Motherfucking Tim Curry voicing the villain.
I bought this for $80 on the Xbox and don't regret it one bit. At $15 it is one of the greatest bargains on steam.

what
I mean okay it's one great game but holy fuck, this sold for 80$?!

When it was a new release it sure did.

Didn't Jack Black voice the main character as well?
And he also won a Spike award for it.
Oh, right.
Australian video game pricing is pretty steep compared to the US.
