is TF2 even Linux ready yet? I thought that would be patched in tonight?
I think so. It's only one game on my steam games libary on linux that shows :v: and is downloadable and probatly launchable :v:
My friend is playing tf2 on linux right now.
Got steam up and running on my ubuntu virtual session. Downloading TF2 at the moment.
You can play tf2 for a while now on linux. Still buggy though.
A tip, Wubi (Windows installer for Ubuntu) makes it easier to delete :v:
Just copy all GCF from your computer to Linux ~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps directory, namely:
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sounds.gcf
source 2007 shared materials.gcf
source 2007 shared models.gcf
source 2007 shared sounds.gcf
team fortress 2 content.gcf
team fortress 2 materials.gcf
team fortress 2 client content.gcf
How do I find the ubuntu files in Windows? Also Do I need to install steam on ubuntu?
Do I need to install steam on ubuntu?
For Team Fortress to work, yep.
Ugh, I can't figure out Ubuntu for the life of me, I have to install some library so that Steam would run on X86 Architecture (It gives me an error when installing).
Ah okay, so to save time waiting for TF2 to install on it, I just copy the .gcf into the steam files?
Or should I just install it via the Steam client? :)
Running steam on ubuntu in virtual box is painfully slow.
Anyone else tried just simply installing it with Wubi? What diffrences does VM make?
Got TF2 launched and in text mode, no penguin yet obviously.

I've been trying to install Kubuntu with wubi, but it keeps hanging at the Kubuntu load/splash screen when I try running it.
I'm waiting for the update to pop out.
I already have VB prepared. I still have until the end of the month to decide, since I'm a bit worried about my computer skills...
Might have to ask around.

I don't know what's the diffrence between them but normal Ubuntu installs just fine.
I'm just worried about the results.
Just another silly question. I can install Ubuntu on my pendrive and I want to copy the CFG but the pendrive it's just 8 gb, will I need to installa the 12 gb game in my pendrive?
Well hurrah for me since ubuntu wont install for me so no Promo for me this year either :suicide:

That baby on the left must be the Heavy. Look at all those fat folds...
don't use virtualbox
use VMware
Why so?
Why so?
virtualbox is laggy as fuk
vmware is not laggy as fuk
So I suppose this silly promo precludes a serious update of any sort.
Installed ubuntu, was at the desktop.
And it wouldn't connect to the internet.
:suicide:

The same thing happened with the Mecha update where they announced AS Items and everyone thought that was what we were going to get. Until several hours later.

Would you really be expecting a "serious" update the week of Valentine's Day?
a new bow would be awesome

At this point I don't really expect anything but reskins, bad promos, a few weapon-destroying nerfs, and lazily created MvM missions.
