Ordered a RED pyro, can't wait till he gets here :D :D :D [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] My brother works at a comic / hobby shop, so I had him order 2 extra Pyros He wanted one as well, don't look at me like that. Will they all come with a hat? I don't really give a shit but just curious
Ordered the RED demo and pyro.
My Demo is being held hostage in Oregon since Thursday. I hope he is ok.
My Demo is being held hostage in Oregon since Thursday. I hope he is ok.
Just give them the ransom and it'll be alright.
My Demo is being held hostage in Oregon since Thursday. I hope he is ok.
Oregon? That can't be good. At first he will be truckin' along all nice and healthy and then... BAM!
let's see - valve is afraid to tweak existing TF2 items because "it is not what the customer originally paid for" - valve brute-forces in the high-definition pack on Half-Life 1 more than a decade later good fucking game
which items are you talking about just wondering?
just about every community cosmetic and alot of weapons probably I don't really count the useless nerfs or buffs as serious changes take natascha as an example. Alot of people just thought that valve should drop it and completely give it a new purpose or bonus. But no, they just goddamn stick to the slowdown and make endless changes around it, even though it will NEVER work. All because they think people who paid for it would be mad to see it changed.
people find the natascha overpowered still? I hardly ever see it used anymore
not overpowered, but it's just not really interesting from the heavy's perspective, the slowdown does nothing unless you're close to people, in which case they will die regardless I haven't seen it being used in a long time aswell
It's tough to use right, and when you do, the minigun is still more effective.
I for one would find it confusing if the core mechanics of weapons were constantly changing. Are there some that could be balance a bit better? Sure. But there's already enough in this game to keep up with without having to second guess what a gun that's been in the game for years now does. There are several hundred thousands of people who play this game and among them this community is probably among the most informed. In cases like these, where it could cause confusion for the vast majority of the playerbase, I think it's best to go with a fairly low common denominator. That's just me though. As for the set hats, I think that valve should just give them (or rather an all class hat that fulfills the sets) to everybody.
I wish the eviction notice and family business weren't garbage
I wish the eviction notice and family business weren't garbage
Both aren't exactly bad. I see what they were trying to do for the Eviction Notice but crits are still random, and the Family Business is good, just outclassed by the Sandvich.
I wish the eviction notice and family business weren't garbage
You have never tried the buffalo steak sandvich and the eviction notice haven't you? just to goof around it's really good, spamming minicrits. however in actual matches you should use the festive punch or the stock fists.
Both aren't exactly bad. I see what they were trying to do for the Eviction Notice but crits are still random, and the Family Business is good, just outclassed by the Sandvich.
the eviction notice is always made fun of for being UP
Anyone know when the figures will hit retail?

I didn't pay for a Tomislav only for it to become useless a year later.
Except the nerfed weapons aren't what we paid for either. Valve balances things because it's good for gameplay, and they don't care who whines about it.
If you want a pay-to-win game, go play Combat Arms or some shit. Valve balances things because it's good for gameplay, and they don't care who whines about it.
The only good thing about Combat Arms is the music
If you want a pay-to-win game, go play Combat Arms or some shit. Valve balances things because it's good for gameplay, and they don't care who whines about it.
How come buffing a weapon that is free to get would make this game pay-to-win?
How come buffing a weapon that is free to get would make this game pay-to-win?
That's not what I said at all. I was saying that refusing to nerf an item just because people paid for it is a really dumb idea and it's what you'd expect from a game that the more you buy, the better you are. Once that happens, it's no longer a matter of balance, but a matter of not upsetting investors. We've seen which one Valve prefers.
The only good thing about Combat Arms is the music
this is a lot of arms
Valve balances things because it's good for gameplay, and they don't care who whines about it.
then why is the tomislav just 10% faster spinup time? that's useless, and it's not like the tomislav would have been allowed in competitive play so why not let the heavy get kills in pubs?
then why is the tomislav just 10% faster spinup time? that's useless, and it's not like the tomislav would have been allowed in competitive play so why not let the heavy get kills in pubs?
Because when numerous servers are completely dominated by Heavies that can spin up almost instantaneously, people tend to stop playing the game. A mass exodus of players is a bad thing, it's in the developers' best interest to prevent such occurances. It was about as much fun as trying to snipe against an aimbot.

TF2 is one of the most imbalanced games I have ever played, I quit for a whole year because I found pub gaming so unenjoyable
then why is the tomislav just 10% faster spinup time? that's useless, and it's not like the tomislav would have been allowed in competitive play so why not let the heavy get kills in pubs?
It's maddening how many people completely disregard the Tomislav's ability to stay revved in complete silence and how fucking useful that is. Also, Heavy does not need any help in getting kills. Ever.
I for one like the nerf that Tomislav/Sandvich/GRU heavies got. Because, otherwise, it was a 450 HP class without a movement penalty and with a fucking 400 DPS assault rifle. I still think the Tomislav shouldn't be able to outdamage even the Natascha, the silence is THAT good of a bonus.

Do people use the Brass Beast? I never see it anymore. I mean, going much slower is kinda a harsh debuff, but surely the damage boost is significant enough?
