anyone wanna help me out with the Tux? (yknow entering my account on Linux)
anyone wanna help me out with the Tux? (yknow entering my account on Linux)
Don't risk your account security for a virtual item. edit: The Tux is a neat and novel thing, but Linux, Steam, and TF2 are all free to install and use. You are going to see a lot of people over the next two weeks try to pretend that this will be the next Earbuds. It won't be. The market will be flushed with them. I say go for the Tux only if you are really interested in giving Linux a spin for real, however brief, and not to worry if you don't.
anyone wanna help me out with the Tux? (yknow entering my account on Linux)
Sure give me your steam games I mean account I'll change your password- I mean secure it for you!
Sure give me your steam games I mean account I'll change your password- I mean secure it for you!
Umm yeah, about that I could just disable steam guard, give you the id and pw and you can't do shit, other than trading my tf2 items away Or by desperately lying to steam support.
I figure ill use wubi
Pro-Tip: For those using Wubi, make sure you give Ubuntu 20 GB or more.... I made the mistake of giving it exactly 18 GB and TF2 wouldn't load the last 100 MB I needed to open the game, which led to me having to resize it, which wasted more time.
My laptop is shit, its any way to load tf2 in a simple form?

I made 2 mistakes that caused me to have to reinstall all over. First was installing the 64-bit instead of the 32-bit (which i know there is a fix without having to start all over but then I had an issue with me removing the account pass yet needing to authorize everything somehow.. so blah there) Second was I only gave it 18GB of space. I cringed when I saw i had no space left when copying the tf2 files over. Also if some of you are doing it like I did which is.. copying the tf2 files over onto a flash drive and then copying them into linux.. make sure you let "tf2" start downloading from steam first so it creates the files initially. Then just cancel and copy over. I kept getting errors about not enough space the 3rd time around even though I gave it 30GB. I only had 11GB left once i copied over the tf2 files yet steam wasn't aware I had even started the tf2 installation process yet, so it was trying to recreate the 14GB files on top of my already copied over files. Hence the not enough space left error. All in all it was a fun experience trying out linux. 3 installs, 10 switches between Windows/Linux (Dont ask.. i kept forgetting to do the simplest things) staying up to 2am and getting it working this morning wasn't that bad.
