I'm not vac banned on any of the accounts I used the tool on. I used the original one that name changed on one of my idles, and my edited one on another. No vac bans. Proof: http://steamcommunity.com/id/dustytrombone http://steamcommunity.com/id/mrbw You guys didn't seriously use the tool with Steam or TF2 already running, did you?
FOR THE LOVE OF ETRO DON'T USE 64 BIT!!!! EDIT: It's not dumb Hng you tard, using 64 bit Ubuntu is more of a nightmare then 32bit, and can go wrong far easier.
Why would install 32-bit Linux on a 64-bit laptop?
Why would install 32-bit Linux on a 64-bit laptop?
Linux IS NOT windows. It doesn't matter if the damn PC is 64 bit or 32 bit, or how much RAM you're running. I used 64 bit on my 64 bit PC and that only ended in a massacre of data. You can use it if you want, but I'm suggesting if you're ONLY installing it for TF2/Butt Buddy and you've never dabled in Linux to just stick to 32 bit as it's less of a pain to setup.
For an opposing viewpoint, I have had 0 complications with the 64 bit version of ubuntu.
I knew BIT.TRIP back in 2009. I feel really indie for that. but i'm not still, good memories with that series. c:
It seems its banable to use it now. I used it and I got VAC Banned. Proof: http://steamcommunity.com/id/omfgcata/ I got banned right after I had used it after a few hours. My alts which I had not used it on did not get banned. I understand that this is bannable and I fully support that Valve did what they thought was unnecessary, all I want to do is warn others to not do the same mistake.
well fuck. looks like im losing my account then though im not banned and i didnt use a program while running tf2. so i have my fingers crossed.
Why exactly are people worrying about using SAM? Also, is there something new to unlock with it?
WHy do I feel they're going to have a cheaters lamenent item for anyone who didn't use that program? This is to promote linux guys. The least you could do is try. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline]
Why exactly are people worrying about using SAM? Also, is there something new to unlock with it?
They arn't. Some guy got banned for using a program that runs tf2 in linux or something. Not a virtaul machine a thing that makes steam think its on linux.
I regained my very first hat today, a Vintage Tyrant's Helm
VAC bans aren't instant. They take weeks to come into effect. So, we won't know if the program is bannable for at least a week or more. He had to have gotten banned from something else.

just putting this here so nobody can become a page king :) (User was banned for this post ("Pageking gimmick" - MaxOfS2D))
I regained my very first hat today, a Vintage Tyrant's Helm
i regained the vintage killing floor items recently after selling things on market, then spending that money on the items. market is so great for this kind of stuff, especially stuff i could never sell for metal.
just putting this here so nobody can become a page king :)
You are now on my list of people I hate because they find it necessary to point out a page king. I remember staying up late for 3 nights in a row so I could utilize the unlimited data hours my ISP provides and download TF2 onto my Mac, just for a pair of virtual buds. I doubt I care enough to install an OS I won't use for a penguin.
just putting this here so nobody can become a page king :) (User was banned for this post ("Pageking gimmick" - MaxOfS2D))
Spencecool Taken...not soon enough.
they already do? [editline]15th February 2013[/editline]
that go up to the shoes the bare skin looks awkward. at least make it a style
that go up to the shoes the bare skin looks awkward. at least make it a style
It's fine. otherwise we might as well have duplicates of "The Essential Accessories"
Genuine Essential Accessories wouldn't be too bad.
I used that program with Steam runing hours ago, but not TF2, Steam disconnected and logged to the virtual Linux thing, had to restart the PC in order to work and so far, no bans, account in good standing. I'm guessing that with so many people doing it, if it is considered as a banable offense, they might run another "Cheater's Lament" like promo for those who got the item in the legal ways, cause banning all those accounts and recieving all that hate mail it's something I'm pretty sure valve doesn't want to go through. And then, again, I'm might not be an expert in this kind of things, but that software basically let you execute your game via text, thing that a lot of us does for idling, so I see no problem and personally I'm not in the mood for installing an OS that I wll not use.
Not like Valve would be able to determine who did it unless certain circumstances are met anyway. If their servers can't even tell if you're using a real Steam client or not, how will they know if you were really on Linux and not just an EXE running a really stripped down terminal? The best they could do is punish people with the namechange in their history, but now that there's a version out there that avoids it, there is literally nothing (to my knowledge) they can do to find who exactly used the tool. Steam can't root through your files, browser and download history like Origin can, after all. If the client says it's running from Linux, that's all the server cares about, giving a Tux and moving onto more important matters. Probably doesn't even keep logs, since that's a pretty mundane thing.

If they do give out a hat for not using that program, Then they will probably give it to the program-users in a year.
Its any way to disable forever airpalne mode on linux?Everityme I disable it it ables again
Install the proper NIC drivers, or update the existing ones. If it can't detect a network card it defaults to airplane mode.
Tonight'll be the night.
they're using TF2 characters in the foreground. Nice touch, especially the gunslinger.
It would be great if it were an interactive taunt like the high-five. Friendly players could press their taunt key while in front of the taunting player to do some headbanging or \m/ A tauntkill would be fine by me too.
they're using TF2 characters in the foreground. Nice touch, especially the gunslinger.
And the pyro lighter, like in real rock'n roll concerts ! ( even if, in these days, people better use mobiles... ) Can't wait for this !
